Dry or wet food? or both?

I only feed my girls dry food, but lastnight i bought them a can of wet and split up amoung the 3 of them...they loved it. They have been so good i thought they deserved a treat. I was thinking of buying some more canned wet food and giving them little amounts in their dinner.

What do you guys feed, just dry or both?

Also is there any benefit to feeding some wet or does it just make the food tastier?

Personally I don't think there are any benifits to wet. Just a spoiled dog. LOL!!!

But Oscar gets just dry here. Sometimes if its like his birthday or a holiday he gets something special mixed in with his food. But thats mainly some sort of raw meat.

Sometimes if you give them the wet food, they go on strike, and won't eat the dry. As the dry is easier to use, and as it is better for their teeth, that is not a good idea...
I give the wet food to lactating ****es, they cannot eat the dry fast enough, so it helps them when they are eating 3x what another dog would in a day.
I think that little dogs may need canned, and sick, young or elderly animals need canned. Iman, my cat, eats just canned now. She's old and getting creaky croakie...

I dont know if it is the right way to go things...but i free feed...dry food. I will give wet or an additive to nursing mothers and ones who need a bit of beefing up...like i have one now..she gets the special treatment...she needs to bulk up.

i feed dry also. but its a high quality kibble.and i have a self feeder so its available to them at all times. i also buy the natural balance lamb. it comes in a tube. and feed that also as treats. my gsd also gets the large beef basted bones (like milkbones) and he loves them.i think its just everyones own preferences and what works well for them and their pets.

In repsonse to the question Harvey my dobie gets dry and wet food ..

when i got him he had been abused and was very depressed and would not eat anything

so to entice him i gave him meat with his dry food to try and get some weight on him which worked as he was very under-nourished and looked awfull.. we later found out he had a wheat/gluten intolerance and we had to put him on a hypoallergenic dog food with hypoallergenic meat and he now looks amazing and is bulking out now... He is very good though and not picky i can leave down a bowl of dry food and he will eat it without the meat..I feed him meat aswell for extra energy and protein as he is a large Hugely active doggy

I will have to update my dogster page because on the there he is still very thin (the pic where he is lying on the grass).. plus i just love people to see mummys little precious whom i love to pieces
