I wasn't able to get on last night because we had a huge storm system move through here. We were in a tornado warning most of the night. Hope everyones night was a little more stress free then mine. LOL!!!

YIKES!! That sucks!! I hope everyone is ok though. Where do you live, Paige?? I always forget. I'm in NW Iowa and we get those all the time in the summer, but usually they're out in the fields and never come close to anyone's house. Thank God!! I know it's really scary when it does happen though. I remember one time last summer when we were planning a weekend trip down to southern Iowa to see some of my family down there with my parents and big bro and his wife, we were under a tornado watch and then warning, pretty much all morning, till like 3pm. Then we decided to leave and the route that we went, we ended up running into a developing tornado!! It just looked like a whirlwind/dust devil, then we drove thru it (someone was truly watching over us that day!!), and turned around and it had turned into a tornado!! It was sooo cool!! It was a small one, but it started on the ground and worked its way up to the sky after we passed it. That is one day I'll never forget for the rest of my life!!

Yeha I live in North Tx. We have had a few bad experiances with tornados here. In 79 a tornado came through town and killed a lot of people. http://www.srh.noaa.gov/oun/storms/19790410/wichitafalls.php

This link shows pics of it. It destroyed on part of town. The sirens never even blew until it was already on the ground. Everything happened so fast. I think tornados are an amazing site to see.

Here in California, I will take the occasional earthquake, anyday, to that...
I'm pretty sure we will be out of water and power, soon, though...

Well I couldnt sleep so I got up to check the internet, and my email, the first thing I see is a weather alert about the storms.  So I went to check the radar, and it look real  bad,  so if I ever do get to sleep I will just get woke up again due to thunder.  They are still a few hours out.  I just hope they are gone by morning, so I don't have to drive in them.  I dont know why but put a little water on the road and everyone forgets how to drive.

the weather which you have to deal with is amazing in the us ~ tornados, earthquakes etc.. i think im gonna keep myself 'safe' in england. I always watch the programmes that come on over here about tornados in the us an it scares the life out of me .. all i have to deal with is a bad storm (which is scary enough im such a wimp) although the way global warming is going england wont be so safe from the extreme weather in the future .. in the past year we have had 2 tornados (only little ones) this was 100% unheard of before..

well good luck with the weather and stay safe

well looks like most of it fizzled out, and what stayed together passed north.  But it did look bad the last time I looked.  The weather just fascinates (sp) it changes so quick, and the weather people hardly ever get it right

I grew up in Iowa and seen a lot of bad storms and a few tornados. I love the adrenaline rush you get from a storm. Now I live in Phoenix, and it's a real dud. Maybe five storms a year that kicks up a little dust. Screw earthquakes! Don't want no part of them. Just some good old thunder and lightening.

I totally hear ya, PitPat!! I love the storms we get here, love the thunder, love the lightning, love the rain. All as long as that's not how the entire summer goes, we DO need some nice, sunny, warm days, lol.

Kitty, I love extreme weather as well. That day that we had the tornado warning for our county, it was such an adrenaline rush!! We were in the basement for most of the morning, then as soon as we got out of the warning, we left the basement and left for our trip!! Not exactly a smart move, but if we hadn't done that, we would never have seen that awesome tornado or had the experience of driving right thru it when it was a baby!! lol

We had severe storms until almost midnight. And then somemore at around 3 until 4:30 this morning. Lets just say my bed was full. It was lightening and thundering really bad. Our whole house was lighting up. But luckily no tornados. But we had very high wind. I think they said we were having wind gust up to 65. Rain was blowing under my back door so I went through a lot of towels. I also love bad weather but with a 3 year old we have to be prepared.
