My Dad....

Keep my Dad in your prayers. Yesterday was David's graduation party, but we were also celebrating my dad's and my birthdays. He wasn't feeling well all week, he had a heart attack last night during the party. Very stressful day today. I have never felt like this in my life. He won't know for sure if he will have to have open heart or not until tomorrow after a test. He is so young looking and acts like he is still 20. It was hard to see him in such a vulnerable state.

I probably won't post much...just asking for lots of prayers. Thanks guys.

Awee, M.p.p. my prayers are with you and your father.  It is just a grand thing to have such a great father daughter relationship. I envy your relationship. I hope all goes well for your father. Hopefully they have caught it early and it can be fixed.

Oh I am so sorry.. It is really hard to see anyone, especially a parent like that and feel so helpless. You had such an exciting weekend planned and now this. Again, I am so sorry. I will remember him and your family in my prayers.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

I am sitting here relaxing for a minute before I get ready to go to the hospital. Thank you all. It is amazing how even speaking with those you have never met can still put your mind at ease, knowing someone out there has said a preyer for him. Thank you!

My dad had strange symptoms.  he had complained when we were working at the house a few weeks ago about getting overwhlemingly tired for short periods of time, he would sit down, hold his chest but in ten minutes he was back up working again. I asked and asked that he go to a doctor. He is just as thick as I am!! lol

So my mom said on Sat. "I don't know how long we can stay today, your dad is feeling terrible" I said ok and could tell he was not himself. About 7:00 he told my mom he had better go inside, he thought he was going to faint. He actually told us to call 911 and we knew this was serious. But he never had the classic clutching of the heart and falling over scene. He was alert the whole time and even made a joke as he was carried out on the cot. But he had another attack in the ambulance and it took almost 13 hours of being in the hospital for them to determine it was actually a heart attack.

I am extremely close to my parents. I go on vacations with them. I work for them. But we are not the cuddly snuggly type of family. We throw out an occasional I love you or hug on special occasions! lol  But the bond is thick. It is just my brother and I, so the four of us have a pretty unique relationship. This is killing me, my mom, and my brother.  My dad's nickname for almost 20 years has been Sparky, he is infamous for eletrical accidents, nailing a finger, falling off a ladder, but he is very talented and very smart.

My father was a high school drop out, 60's junkie, and he is now a retiring vice president of a plastics company. He has worked his way in this company from running a machine to vice president. No college education. He is a hard working man with a high stress job. He is a harley builder and rider. He is a golfer. I think I mentioned before that we call him a chameleon. You could set him anywhere and he would fit right in. I tend to be the same way, but I lack the discipline that this man has.

This has been a humiliating experience for him. But we all know this is the best way it could have happened. He was with all of us, we were able to get him the right help. Had we driven him to the hospital and he had that attack.....what could we have done? It may have been alot worse!  Also, he was not alone at the house working. That would have been terrible. Also, had he been out on a golf course...that could have taken even longer to get him to the paramedics or hospital. And he wouldn't go to the doctors and now he is forced to be there and not run away from the problem. He is miserable....they won't let him have a cigarette and I think that is the worse part for him. The doc did allow him one cup of coffee today and my mom says he is a "changed man"   lol

Anyways, I am babbling, but I am the type that writing is my best therapy. Even if no one reads it...I FEEL BETTER!!!!!  lol

Take care, I will pop in and say hey. But now I must head to the hospital. Luv and miss you guys.

Thank God you all got him to the hospital in time.  I'll be praying that he'll be back home in no time and be his old self again.  My father had open heart twice, once twenty years ago and once two years ago.  He is still swinging away on the golf course.  I pray the same good fortune to your dad.

Triple Bypass is the verdict. The blackage was major. Doc said he was a walking massive heart attack wiaiting to happen, just thankful it all happened like it did. What a day. The next week will be stressfull too, but these surgeries are pretty routine anymore.  Thanks for all your prayers....it means the world!!!!

My thoughts are prayers are with your father and your family. I know how you fell. I'm sure you remember just not too long ago my step father had a heart attack. It's not a fun thing to go threw. Make him as comfortable as he can be in there. The surgeries are very routine now and they are a in and out type thing. My step father was out that same day! Not sure they will do the same with your father cause his sounds more serious that my step dads.

Again My thoughts and prayers are with your father! Everything will turn out ok. Always remember God never throws more at you than you can handle, it all makes you stronger!

Your dad sounds like a great person. Me and my dad are also very close, but we hardly ever say the I love you thing or give hugs. But I talk to him all the time on the phone. I'm sure all will go well with the surgery. Your dad is in my thoughts.

You know the smoking will have to go. Likely it is what caused the problem.
A friend of mine had this kind of trouble, went right back to smoking, now is having the same problem again. It is a real hard habit to break, almost impossible if you can't get away from other people that also smoke...
You are so right that the way things happened, it could not have been luckier for him. Sounds like heap big angel watching out for dad
