Well Isabelle(cat) is acting normal except for one thing. She is throwing up. I've never seen her throw up before. I started yesterday evening, she went under the dining room table and threw up just a little bit. Then she seemed fine. I decided to give her her worming pill (drontel?). So I gave it to her and 15 min later I went to the bathroom and there was throw up on the bathroom mat with the pill. This morning I woke up to throwup threw out the house, not large amounts. I thought maybe it was the new guy but one pile of throw up had a treat in it i had given Izzy after I gave her the pill.
What could cause this? She has started eating wet food since the new guy is here, before that she was never interested in it, could a change in diet cause this? Help!
Oh i also wanted to add that my dog does this once in a while, i think from getting into something.
The throw up was food and saliva
Update: as i was sitting here my boyfriend kitten threw up, so so far it seems its two of them, at least from what i have seen. Oh boy
I called my Vet, and spoke to the tech who helped me yesterday with the new guy. I told her how Isabelle threw up lastnight all over the house and how i just saw my boyfriends cat threw up, and that i wasnt sure if he threw up lastnight too or just this one time. She said if they dont throw up agian that they should be ok, and that if they start throwing up agian to bring them in, that they could have gotten into something or eaten something that didnt agree with them. the only thing I can think it might be would be a new brand of wet food i got for the kitten or the fact i gave my boyfriends kitten and Isabelle deworming pills lastnight?
Anyway I'm worried now, I'm suppose to go with my boyfriend to the dentist for a couple hours(its far away) should I not go and stay with the cats? What would you guys do. I feel bad for my boyfriend cause he has never been to my dentist before and wants company, but I also feel like I need to watch the cats incase they get sick agian and need to see the Vet.
My opinion, i would watch the cats. If they did ingested something bad and need to go to the vet i would want to be there to take them right away. Good luck with what you decide to do and i hope your kitty's get better.
Sorry it took me a while to update...lol....anyways they didnt throw up anymore after I posted this. No one seems sick, but i am keeping a close eye on everyone. The new kitten has been sneezing a lot but he is already on meds for that and he still has an appitite and eats a lot so thats good. Stash is sneezing every once in a while but Jason said that his cats always sneeze and they arnt sick unless they start sneezing a lot, but im watching them too.
Stash my bf kitten, has totally turned his personality around, he or I mean she is a whole new cat, its truley amazing. When Jason got her 2 months ago he hated being picked up, and would move away when you tried petting her, wasnt much into human interaction. She was like this for two months. Then she moves in here and now she just lays there and purrs when you pet her, doesnt cry when you pick her up, and follows us around and talks to us all the time. She is a whole new cat! I just love it!
