my two frenchies sleep in our bed right between us. my sister threw a fit and said that dogs should not even be allowed on the bed ay any time. so now i'm curious as to how many of you let your "babies" sleep in your bed.
Oh, heck no... Dogs are not allowed on any furniture here. They are pampered housepets and may content themselves with clean floors, in bug free house. I used to have outdoor dogs, 20 years ago. This is a step up to me, but I have chronic allergy, perhaps partially due to that. The idea of dogs in my bed practically makes me break out in hives, just thinking about it...
Huh, as I edited the word for spelling, do you notice that furniture includes the word fur...
Personally my dobe isn't allowed on any of the furniture as i got tired over being covered in dog hair so he has his bed in the living room so he can lie on something comfy.. he does try and sneak onto the sofa when im not looking though!
We did once have the futon out so we could sleep downstairs and watch a late night film and harvey was actually alllowed to lie with us ( his dad had a moment of weakness ) and it was nice but it was the worst nights sleep i have ever had ~ he is such a wriggler
I've never had dogs in the bed, but its because they are so big.
In our house, we don't own a bed. The cats have a nice big king size bed that they allow us to sleep in so they can chew on our hair at night. Sometimes they allow us the benefit of feeling them jump all over us and play under the covers. It wakes us up, but what the heck......I mean, it is their bed afterall. We are only tenants in their domain. They'd charge us rent if they could get away with it.
If we fall asleep elsewhere, they meow us to death until we come to their bed. Somethimes I think the hairballs they cough up are our hair!
Since we have moved, they have also taken posession of our kids beds. I guess that was a moving penalty that was written up in their contract with us. They take the kids beds in the day and our bed....I mean their bed at night.
The only furniture Kula is allowed on is a lawn chair out on the deck. I'm with Kitty on the whole dogs in the bed thing..although that cute little face has tempted me from time to time.
To each his own, though...if you want your furbabies in your bed it's your business, not your sister's.
Only Sydney is allwoed to sleep in the bed with us but now that she has her own doggy bed in there she sleeps in that. When i lived alone I use tolet all the dogs sleep with me in bed, we worked out a system where they all got one half and i got the other, if they went on my side they had to get off, so they learned pretty quick to stay on there side. But eventually I got so sick of all the hair, it was gross, so only Syd can sleep with me now cause she hardly sheds and if she does shed i dont see it...lol.
They are all allowed to be on the furniture though, but once i get my couches cleaned that will change..lol.
My husband wants Lola to be able to sleep with us, so one night I actually let her (we're in a full size bed here in GA) that was the WORST nights sleep i've had in forever. I love Lola and all, but with lola in the bed I literally cant move or shift at night, plus I like to be able to cuddle with my husband and since she has to be RIGHT in the middle of us, its just not possible. Both dogs we allow on the furniture but the bed is off limits. Lola knows she can sleep in the bed when my hubby is taking his day time nap. That migth change when we get out Queen bed out of storage, but i'm doubting it. I like my space!
Oscar isn't allowed on the couches, but he can lay on any bed he choses to. At 10 he is sleeping with Kaitlyn in her full size bed. And at around 3 or 5 he moves in the bed with me and Brad. And we just have a queen size.
Both my chi's sleep in bed with us. Its not bad because they are small I dont think I could sleep with big dogs in the bed I need to be able to stretch out. Its funny because whenever I tell Beeper its time for bed he runs into the bedroom. He sits by the side of the bed and whines until I pick him up and put him on the bed.
The only thing that does stink is all the dog hair sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with little white hairs in my mouth or up my nose lol. And when I wash my sheets the lint trap is full of little white hairs. Sometimes I'd like not to have them in the bed but now I'm so used to it I can not sleep without a dog next to me. They have become my personal heater/stuffed animal. :)
Yeah mine are allowed, it's their home too. Milo has always slept on our bed but Hayley has a sleeping bag next to the bed that she sleeps on. That's by her choice. Chance, the black cat, chooses mostly not to sleep on the bed and Toyo, the white one, sleeps on my legs.....lol
The dogs do sleep in bed with me. We used to have 5 in bed with us than Zoe went through her little spiteful period where she would poo in the floor next to where I slept if I moved her. So after that Zoe went back to her crate at night. Zoe is now back in the bed and is doing well. Tucker moves back and forth between our bed and his. I even have a small set of stairs up against the bed for Daisy and Lucy to get up in the bed with. They're to old to jump and can't get up in the bed without it. I do have a king size bed but we still don't have a lot of room in there. Mikey sleeps up above our heads on the pillows and the rest sleep at the foot of the bed.

Mollie and Chopper are allowed to sleep with us at nite-we've only got a queen size bed, otherwise Lexie would be able to also. Otherwise, when we had Eli, we'd let ALL of them sleep in bed with us the whole nite through, but Lexie is only allowed to sleep in bed after Brad gets up for work at 4am, so she still gets to sleep with me. The dobe rescue told us not to let her get on the furniture for like a week or two, till she realizes it's OUR house and furniture, not HERS. So I just started letting her up on stuff yesterday.
Chason's in our bed. Funny thing happened.....before he got groomed (and all his fur chopped off) he would sleep at the foot of the bed by me...because I think between my husband and I he got too hot. Now (since his clipping) he must be cold...because he is fully under the blankets where he can't be seen. It was sooo funny, I was frantically calling him..and the little guy was knocked out under the comforter.
I have a doberman that sleeps in the bed with me. I like it when she sleeps with me cause she sleeps on my feet most of the time and if I'm cold then she warms me up. I think that dogs that sleep in the bed with their owners are their owners teddy bears.
Farley & Chloe are the 1st dogs I've had who have been allowed on the bed or any furniture. Of course, they are the 1st ones I've had who don't shed up a storm! Farley will sleep with me for a while when I first go to bed but usually after about an hr or so he gets off the bed - I think he feels I take up too much room. Chloe will not get on the bed or furniture if there is any person on it but if it's free & clear she will gladly make herself quite comfy.
