I caught my cat peeing on the floor the other day. Not spraying, but actually peeing. He is two years old and neutered. I clean his box daily, so I know it's not because of that. And I already had him checked for a UTI and he doesn't have that. In fact, the vets says that he's perfectly healthy. Is there any way to stop him from doing this?

Strange...Im not a kitty person..but maybe he didnt like the litter? Maybe he was too lazy to walk there? no clue... Bad kitty ..bad!
I DID however find this info for you on another forum:
If your cat has a urinary infection and it hurts when it pees, then it could be associating the litter with the pain, which is why it is going outside of the litter box.
Cats are very jealous of their attention and they need lots of extra love and cuddling so they know that they are the first in your heart if you have a new baby or dog. The cat may just be trying to get your attention.
Some other causes: you just moved, they went through some type of trauma (like declawing) or the litter box is just not clean enough for them? (but you said you have covered this so this is not it).
If the cat is male, sometimes spraying is their nature, where neutering is an answer from some male cats.
Hope this helps, and that it is nothing serious!
I know you said your cat doesnt have a UTI and that you clean the litter, but maybe one of the other things?
Thanks Sandy! You made me laugh, that was funny..bad kitty! lol
He's actually my husband's cat, I'm more of a dog person. I mean, I like all animals, but I'm partial to dogs But I am a stay at home mum, and we haven't gotten any new animals since Ella, and that was last year. I think I've been giving him the same attention I always have, but maybe not....frustrating cats! lol. Dogs are so much easier

Here are a couple of other possibilities. Did you clean his litter box using a different cleanser that has a scent other than what he is used to; did you change the brand of litter you are using; did you move the location of the litter box; did you move something else into the area near the litter box; did you move his food and/or water dish nearer the litter box?
Cats can definitely be strange creatures and sometimes the littlest change in something can throw them off. I had one cat years ago who was an angel in the house, never ever doing anything wrong UNLESS I happened to stay overnite elsewhere, even for only 1 nite. If I had the audacity to do that I knew I'd be coming home and finding that he used every single houseplant as his personal litter box, including the cactus gardens. So I quickly learned that if I wasn't going to be home either hide all the plants in a room he couldn't get in to or make sure I came home with a new supply of potting soil to repot all the plants!
My 12 year old cat pees on the rug in front of us when she is mad at us. When she's REALLY mad (just took her for shot or picked her up from the kennel) she promptly runs upstairs and poops on our bed. Cats can be vindictive. Maybe she's ticked off at you. LOL
Get no-go by pet organics and spray the area. No amount of cleaner gets up the pheromones and subtle scents, they reurinate in areas where they find them.
Cats can get pissed, LOL They can and will pee on your new boyfriends side of the bed if they don't like them, or not use the litter box if another cat has used it.
we went through that about six months ago. phatboy suddenly decided to pee on my husbands side of the bed. we had been blaming the dogs(which i'm sure the cat loved that !)until i caught him in the act. i am very clean about his litter box so i know that wasnt the reason behind his sudden new bad habit. we were confused as to why he was doing it. about that time we had been keeping my daughters cat while they were away, and we think he was jealous and didnt like to use his box after another cat had been in it. after the other cat went home ,he stopped doing it.he hasnt done it since. so i think it was a little bit of jealousy over having to share his box and the other cat even being here.
I sprayed an enzyme cleaner all over the area and then put some in my steam cleaner and re-cleaned it that way. I just hope that helps and that he stops soon. Maybe I shouldn't spray him with vinegar all time, lol. I cannot stand cats on the counters though. I'm kind of Obsessive Compulsive like that, lol.
