AAAAWWWW!!! Thanks, Kitty!! I love that song!! It always, for some reason, makes me cry. But I still love it!! lol. < ---------- very emotional, lol Happy 4th of July, Everyone!!! What is everyone doing to celebrate??
That was very nice. I always get emotional too Mollie.
This weekend shoudl be pretty busy. We are doing our celebration on Sat. and Sun. But Saturday I am going to my moms and we are having a cookout, drinking, and fireworks. On Sunday we are going to the n-laws. We are cooking out and drinking and popping some fireworks. Monday I am just gonna be lazy and get over a hangover. We can't pop many here because 1). its illegal in the city and 2) it hasn't rained in awhile, really dry.
Glad to know I'm not the only one that gets real emotional with patriotic songs like that, lol. That sounds like fun, what you've got planned. I don't think we have anything planned, except going over to the Lakes and watching the fireworks display there. I think we'll leave the kids at home and just go over there for a couple hours and come home. Brad's gotta work on Tuesday morning at 5:30, so he won't wanna stay out real late, prolly fireworks, then home. Oh well. Hey, he gets a 3-day weekend though, can't complain about that!! lol
we are having a big potluck and fireworks show at the park. i will probably not stay for the fireworks as i am worried about my dogs. harley our gsd panics every year ,and this will be the first year for the frenchies.so i dont want our house trashed if they decide to panic. i wish you all a happy 4th ! and for you that will be traveling, a safe trip also.
I do it too. My parents like to go to rodeos and sometimes I go with them, and I always get big tears at the end when they sing "God Bless the USA" and ride around the arena with flags.
That song always makes me cry too, they sang that at my nephew little grad day,(from elementary school. Had to fight back tears.
And lord, when my kids were in elementary school, on flag day(which happens to be my anniversary) they brought some of the troops in with uniforms, all the kids sang the simple, God Bless America, and I of all people had tears in my eyes. Never before with that song. I think the children don't understand just yet, but they will.
