OMG how horrible! I would have gone balistic!

If this is a family member he obviously knows the dog and how the dog is who in their right mind would do something like that?

See I am a beligerant individual when it comes to my animals. This is so weird to read because my brother has to contain his doberman Thor on the fourth of july. That goofy dog wil chase the fireworks for hours. You know those lil colorful ones that spin and jump? He chased one one year and nearly burnt his mouth. So now he is on lockdown on the 4th. Poor lil dog what a horrible way to die!

Hi MypoundPuppies:

"Overprotective nagging wench".  Hilarious. That is cute.

I totally agree.  I cannot believe how some people are so negligent with their children. It drives me up the wall in the library. I am like COME ON PEOPLE. Your 7 year old child is downstairs playing in the water fountain so why are YOU upstairs on the computer.

Maybe because I dont have kids ...I cant imagine. It is simply too much responsibility. I think KittysMom said that recently and I totally agree.  I simply cannot take the responsibility. It's just too much. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.  Seriously.

I couldn't work. I couldn't function because I would worry all the time about my children. Schools, libraries, malls, your own damn home..none are safe from the evil that lurks.

In the article the owner said the dog was ' blown to pieces' ... jeez i know dogs shouldn't play with stuff like that .. but i didnt realise it could do that amount of lethal damage That poor dog ~ i hope it was just so quick an it wasn't in any pain .. such a freak accident

what the heck is a grown man throwing fireworks of any kind into a family gathering. a small child could have just as easily picked that up. and now look at the grief he has brought on his own family members. and also killed an innocent animal. too bad it didnt have a shorter fuse. at least he'd have one less hand to pull something stupid like that again.

Tyson, well I fear that  you have formed an opinion of me from the other subject!! lol But please know, there is more I have to say about all that, but honestly, is this the place??

I do know what you mean about kids these days. I worry about mine all the time. I see other kids out in public, no parents and they act like they don't have a lick of sense. I tell my kids "Let me find out one time you act like that and SEE WHAT HAPPENS!"  lol

I can't imagine what all you have seen and dealt with in your job. How many of them talk back to you like your are their age?!?!

I am not sure I could handle a position such as yours. I am not sure I have ever read what age you teach...college level? Or the little heaten level??  lol

Hi Mypoundpuppies:

:)  No fear needed.  It's all good!

I teach college. Speech. LOL! It is funny many people in the forums have been very perceptive and commented on my writing style.  I may be so formal because of that expensive graduate degree in mass communication (virtually worthless until I got this teaching gig).  It's part time. I need the extra money NOT to save but to support my whimsical toy habit. Like purchasing a exotic persian kitten instead of getting a kitten from the humane society. It goes against EVERYTHING I believe in but I am afraid of cats.  I am not afraid of this cat for some reason.

Anyway, it's kinda neat what you can pick up from people just by what they type.

I probably shouldnt say much else. I probably have told too much about myself already.  Wasn't someone the victim of cyberstalking or something?

Re: students.  Yeah there is an attitude of entitlement that is pervasive and quite shocking. Everyone thinks because they have kids, a husband, a job, they are entitled to allowances NOT to fulfill course obligations. Everyone wants a deadline extension...everyone has an excuse. I sometimes want to say, people have been juggling career, family, children and college for years get over it and just do the damn work..alright already. LOL! Then I am a volunteer literacy tutor. It is difficult to see someone in their 30's with deficient reading skills and to see how their financial existence has been determined by not being able to read. My full time job is a librarian. PUBLIC!  LOL! It's hard. Very very hard.  There again, entitlements. Every body wants something for nothing and people are mean. WAAAAAHHH! Here my whine. LOL!

I love my job mainly because I love to read and to share information and the resources available. I love to talk about books. LOVE IT.  I mean I love books more than I love Law and Order, sleeping and sushi and dogs and the Sound of Music musical!

LOL!

I wish I had better reading habits. I am legally blind in one eye and I usually end up with a massive headache after reading for a long period of time. It is easy to use that excuse, and I am sticking with it!!  lol

Well, truth be known, it is a combination fo that and my mind wanders 24 hours a day, I can never concentrate on anything. I have to do things that move along quickly or I lose interest right away! Oh, those personal demons! lol

I LOVE SPEECH CLASSES! I went back to school two years ago and my speech class was the one I looked forward to. Man, can I babble!! lol    I was much older than most and didn't fear what they thought of me so I didn't have all the jitters that most had. The only thing I feared was all the education that slipped away from me over the last 20 years! lol

I love the Sound of Music and I love Mary Poppins. I have no idea why, but Mary Poppins brings comfort to me. I know almost all the lines and my children refuse to let me watch it! Joking, of course, but they about die if I say I want to watch it.....again!!!!! lol
