I know there have been some lists of bad foods for doggies passed around....but I am too lazy to research it! lol
Anyways, is bacon ok for dogs?
Reason I am asking, I bought 10 pounds of bacon for 14.99 and it is dsigusting. Would it be ok to make some up a little at a time and give as treats? In my mind, I think, how could it hurt? But then again....what do I know?
The way I see it, treats are darn expensive, I could make tons of treats out of this stuff!!!
i give bacon to harvey but i soak it first as the cheap bacon is pumped full of salt and water .. and soaking it helps to draw out some of the salt.. i dont give it to him alot though because of the salt content.. i see no harm in it aslong as the dog is not over weight as it can be fatty but you can cut most of the fat off and its not an every day thing .
Amazingly enough, my friend gave her new puppy bacon and now she has gotten really sick and the vet had to do an operation because she had pancreas problems. Never heard of that trouble but i guess maybe it's bad for puppies.
