With all of todays talk going on, I thought it would be good to take some time and learn about each other a little more. Like what customs we have, where we grew up, things we like to do and so on. Lets make this a Question and Answer thread for everyone here. Lets go for broke and ask each other anything......
I'll start.....
Masonsmommy - do you celebrate Cinco De Mayo here and if so, how is that celebrated?
Oasis05 - I remember you saying you were part native American......do you participate in any NA events? If so, what are they?
It's a ceremony done in an enclosed tent like thing with rocks in a fire pit in the middle. Water is poured over the rocks to make steam. Fasting is done for 12 hours before lodge. Native songs are sung, the pipe is smoked and prayers are made. It is for clensing the body and mind and giving prayers to people in your life, animals, the earth and nature. It is a sacred thing and invitation only. And not an easy invitation to get........lol Once again, no drugs or alchohol allowed.....
Ansy- we celebrate Cinco De Mayo with the family. Normally we go to Mom's for dinner and margaritas. However, we celebrate Sept.16th on a much larger scale. Mexican Independence Day- Mexico's Independence from Spanish rule. We have gone to Mexico City a couple of times and boy are these good times!
Ansy-What made you start your own forum? ( I thank you for it)..but I'm just curious why you would welcome the headaches that come along with it..lol
Oh Mason........do you reeeeeeeaaaaaaaaly want to know the answer to that......lol
I was a member of another forum and those in 'higher places' (mods) didn't like me there. My views were different than theirs. They told me to "go find another forum" because I wasn't wanted there. They eventually banned me once I refused to succumb to their need of having me keep my opinions to myself.
Instead of 'finding another forum', I just built my own.....lol. There have been forum wars ever since (with the exception of the last week)...lol
Lots of members here came from that forum as well. Some still post there. It is a great site, just has some of the wrong people running it.
There are alot of headaches that come with running a forum. I've had some really bad days on here, but in the end it is worth it. I love being able to give people a place to chat and discuss things. I am all about the internet.......thats where I met my husband...lol.
If we ever reach like a thousand members.....I'm just gonna hide and let the mods deal with it though....lol j/k.
Sadly the most culturally deprived of the lot will not be posting in here and will not be doing what they so desperately need to do: LEARN! Pathetic. You really can do nothing but pity them. It is really sad. No doubt, as we write TNT is on a militia retreat to take back America.
I come from an Irish father and an English mom. Born in 63, the year the wars started between ireland and England. At least over a particular peice of land. My father could not get a job in England, just because of his last name. So thru alot, my parents divorced and we all ended up in California agian. Though all of this happened I was tooooo little to remember. We used to go to the Irish faires yearly. It was alot of fun. To this day I get sort of sad when I hear Irish music. In my heart, I feel like I am missing something great. Both from england and Ireland.

My mum and 'dad' ended up getting divorced and we moved to suffolk i never saw my real dad again ~ but i didnt care an never have because of thing that had happened.Well my mum remarried a great man who feels like my biological father whom i love an adore I went to college and trained in childcare .. met a man there got married to young and with false hopes of what a marriage was about .. we ended up great friends in the end not in love so we decided that enough was enough and moved on. I then moved back home which wasn't easy considering i was used to independance of my own home an later met michael an fell in love and we have been together ever since with a gorgeous addidiotion to the family Harvey our dobie .. got the internet .. and found this forum ~ and here i am and the happier for it

Twinkletoes:
Kewl!
We are touring Europe next year. I can't wait. I want to tour on a bicycle but noone else is interested. LOL!
Have you seen About a Boy with Hugh Grant. That movie is hilarious! My mom loves that movie.
I think once my kids fly the coup, we will venture. I have my aunt, uncle cousins and my dear grandma(only grandparent left) there in London. Father in Ireland, Galway. Oh and my step mom(divorced from my father but I still call her stepmom) her family is in Dublin. I hear Dublin is a bit tough but oh well. So's L.A. in some parts. LOL
When I had my red tail boa I hated feeding her because I was breeding rats but at the sametime I thought it was so cool the way she ate. This is really disgusting but once she exploded a rats heart it was gross to clean up but she was so pretty her name was neffertti ( sorry for the spelling )
Ansy, this is a really neat thread to start but I hesitate to participate.
Seems any time and EVERY time I respond to a thread like this I get stomped. Don't wanna deal with the headaches. Also any time I have discussed anything about me here it has only caused headaches.

Oasis- I decided to become a hairdresser because everyone always told me that I did such a nice job with my own makeup and hair color and what not. Also, I didn't want to go to a "real college", I'm not the college type, so I thought 14 months in cosmo school would really be cool and it was, usually.lol
