I feel like such a a**hole .. we took Harvey out for a huge run and he loves getting in the long grass .. well we come back an Harvey was knackered an i wanted to go out with the Midi Motos(110cc-which are a huge amount of fun) so we put Harvey indoors an got the bikes put an went out .. well after Having a great time (except for a scary moment on the sand!) we put the bikes away and come in.
Harvey didnt greet us like usual an seemed really funny... i gave him a kiss on the head and gave his face a rub which always seems to cheer him up ~ well i noticed a seed just in the corner of his eye so i wiped it out .. BUT then i looked closer an his eyes were FULL of seeds ~ a huge mass of them in his eyelids in each eye and his eyes were raw where he had been rubbing them with his paws.. well several cotton-buds later and some benadryl an an lot of guilt he was o.k ... i learned a pretty good lesson from that...
An is it just me but do Dobies have constantly got eye-bogies
Poor harvey. I know trinity gets eye-bogies all the time. Most of the time she wipes them off her self by rubbing on me or my mother. I think they are sick.
You know, I went to a very big dog rescue festival yesterday. I did not see one dobie!!! not one. I saw alot of breeds there. It had just dawned on me.
yeah i've noticed that when i go to shows where dogs are allowed.. I took Harvey my Dobie an he was fine and realy enjoyed it ... although alot of people would cross to the other side when they saw him comin .. its a real shame and makes it harder when you are socialising them like i am with Harvey .. although im sure if it was a little puppy people wouldn't leave him alone ...
We walked up to the ring side to watch the Gun Dogs at work and Harvey nuzzled this mans hand who he was standing next to .. wel the bloke reached out and as soon as he saw what he was stroking he jumped about 7 feet into the air .. i said its 'ok he is just loving ya' and he said yeah but i bet he wouldnt think twice about biting my leg off' god that made me pi**ed off .. as if i would take an aggresive dog to a public place
