I'm not certain so I won't say. But one thing I saw yesterday at the rescue festival was a strange mix, pug-pitbull. And he was the cutest little thing. Looked more like a minature pitbull. The face was a bit more smushed, but very cute. Tough looking guy.
There are different types of APBT's. Gamebred Pits are anywhere from say 30-45 I think it is. They are very small, they almost look like they are being starved but really it is there body structure. The average Pit is about 45-65 some are smaller and some a larger. Then you have the huge pits that are anywhere from 65-100, they are the abnormal Pits.
AST's look a little different but not really, AST were orignally APBT's but for AKC sake they changed the name cause "pit bull" had such a repuation.
When I get a second i'll post pics of all the different body types of Pits.
American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and American Staffordshire Terriers all come from the same original stock, but have been bred differently. It is indeed very confusing. The same dog can be registered with UKC as APBT and AKC as Amstaff. Here is a great article that explains about the different names. It's long but if you are interested in knowing about that, it's a very good read.
Manson is actually a Staffy (Staffordshire Bull Terrier) but I just say I have 2 pit bulls because it is much simpler. Staffies shouldn't get over 40 pounds.
