yep, ive caught marlin and swordfish.....my next big trip is in august when i go to ranco buena vista and fish the warm water.........that will be my personal fishing time.......otherwise i run a sportfishing boat for a living so i guess every day is my next big trip lol
Ive watched a few sea fishing programmes and it looks great .. but im really scared if open water .. my knees knock together an everything Ive heard Marlin are real dangerous and they can kill you if you aren't carefull ~ is that true?.. The only fishing i have done is is with my late grandad ..he was big into carp fishing an caught some HUGE ones an they were so beautifull ..we have quite a few carp lakes around us and you can always see them sitting near the top of the water getting some sun in the morning .. and i went beach fishing/casting on the coast that was pretty cool .. i caught a plaice and we had alittle barbecue on the beach .. it tasted great
oops, i meant to post 3 different ones, and yes, marlin can be very dangerous when u get them near the boat.......the bill is very sharp and hard and there is a method to getting them on board and we try to cut off the bill asap
yes i have, i have found police line do not cross tape, bugs i have never seen before or since, whole crabs, and many other things..........ill type the weirdest thing i have found, but its gonna be a bit long, so hang on a sec
fishing in the kelp beds one day i caught a calico bass of nice size and kept it to have for dinner that night. i was the capt of the half day boat and cleaned it myself and as i cut across the belly, i opened the stomach and out came what looked like a coin covered in blood. i washed it off and it was a dog tag from a pooch. i called the animal number on the tag and it was out of svc, so i called animal control and acted like i found a dog and wanted to return it and they gave me a working phone number and i called it and some mean old guy answered and said he didnt own a dog. i told him the story of how i came across the tag and that i just wanted to surprise who ever used to own the dog it was on. he said his son worked on a boat and that his dog just died a couple of weeks before. when i asked his son's name he said the name of my deckhand!!!!! he had tossed it over the side along with the ashes while working one day so i waited and slammed it down on the galley table and he was speechless. i told him how i got it and he started crying......................he still caries it on a necklace to this day...............................this all happened the summer of 01
After a day fishing in the ocean a fisherman is walking from the pier carrying two lobsters in a bucket. He is approached by the ranger who asks him for his fishing license.
The fisherman says to the warden, "I did not catch these lobsters, they are my pets. Everyday I come down to the water and whistle and these lobster jump out and I take them for a walk only to return them at the end of the day."
The warden, not believing him, reminds him that it is illegal to fish without a license.
The fisherman turns to the warden and says, "If you don't believe me then watch," as he throws the lobsters back into the water.
The warden, wide-eyed and intrigued, says, "Now whistle to your lobsters and show me that they will come out of the water."
The fisherman turns to the warden and says, "What lobsters?"
