That's about the exact size of my Lexie too, Kitty. She's on Science Diet, adult formula. I think it's just because they're still pups and have very high energy and can metabolize all that food rather quickly.
He's pretty, looks healthy. Could he gain about 2 lbs? Is he still eating puppy food?
hes on adult Hypoallergenic food .. and hes a just turned a year old and is in adult food.. this is a pic from 2 months ago when he had constant upset stomach and was pretty sickly.. when we got him he had terrible worms and was on what looked like the dust of the dog food factory floor! and was really neglected..
from the pic i can see hes put on quite abit of weight but he still growing real fast and is very active! and gets a good amount of exercise every other day .. i dont take him every day else the weight would start dropping off.
All these beaufiful Doberman pics make me want to pet a shinyblackdobie! Unfortunately, I don't know any... Maybe I should pack my bags and head out to the UK to pet Harvey.

Or you could drive on up to Iowa and pet Lexie!! And then we could go to the Doberman Rescue of Nebraska and you could pick out a dobe from there!! lol. Lemme know when you wanna come to Iowa.
sure you can pet harvey , he loves a fuss... Harvey was a rescue so Mollies idea was a great one .. Harvey looks so alike Lexie .. they would make a cute couple
That sounds good too! Well, the petting part... All I need is another dog in my house.. Could it please be another dominant male so that I have 3 to rotate?? LOL
Well, that 'splains it,PD. Do worm him after 1 month from the last time. Worms encyst and hatch out at intervals. If you put him on puppy food for a while, he will flesh out, a bit more. Lexie is the same size, but because of what he went through, Harvey is showing too much rib, and spine. I look at my dog's weight everyday. I measure their kibble to how they look that day, as they are more active sometimes, than others. Kitty is porky, for some reason, today. She will get 1/2 inch less in the pan tonight. ALL my dogs, regardless of weight, or size, or age, eat puppy kibble. It is higher protein, and more efficient for working dogs...I learned that years ago. This week they are eating Nature's Recipe, puppy kibble. I go to Nutro Natural Choice, depending on which is cheaper. They get a 1/2 slice of whole wheat bread or pita in the morning, to tide them over to dinner.
