Well, Kaia goes in a few hours to the vet to get examined for her leg. I had pretty much prepared for that and had gotten most of my anxiety down until about 5 o'clock this morning when my daughter (3 years old) fell out of my bed. She started crying and after 15 minutes, she started telling us that she hurt really bad and couldn't really move her arm. We thought she had dislocated her shoulder blade. So we took her to the emergency room and they did x-rays and my daughter had broken her coller bone. Completely snapped it. Now she has to wear a brace for 6-8 weeks and cannot really do any type of kid playing until that time is up. I feel so bad for her, she can barely move and it hurts her so bad everytime that she moves at all.
So here she is in great pain and I would LOVE to keep her home and let her not move for 8 weeks but I also have an injured dog that needs to see the vet today as well. So my baby gets to go to Toys R Us and pick out a "being a big girl toy" and hopefully we will find out what is wrong with Kaia.
Sorry for ranting, it just has not been a very good start to my day and I am just afraid what will happen next! lol Well, hopefully Kaia will be good news.
What a day... I always hate it when Kaitlyn falls. I dread the day if the actually breaks something. There is no way she could ever sit still. She is also 3. Hope the rest of your day gets a little bit better.
Hopefully she'll heal up quicker than the dr's say. About 4 years ago my grandson fell off a swing when he was 3 yo & broke his collarbone too. He wore the brace for a couple of wks but was actually back to normal much quicker than the dr's projected. The advantages of youth!
childhood maladies. its a miracle if a child makes it through life without some kind of trauma. i raised six kids and my girls got into just as many scrapes as my boys. now they are grown i have to transfer my worries over to my grandsons. your daughter will be fine in no time. i think the parents always suffer the most when our kids get hurt. and we worry about them long after they are grown and gone off on their own.
My son broke his collarbone right before his 4th birthday, he also broke his arm in half when he was 6. Coallarbone is very common even in newborns, trust me they heal quick! She'll probably be able to take it off even before that. They heal very quick when they are young. Feel better! She'll be ok!
Oh man! That would freak me out! I hope she has a quick recovery! It is so scary when things happen to kids. My kids have never broken anything, but one time my daughter got the flu really bad and she was really young, barely 2. It's so hard as a parent to see your child hurting.
