How could someone gotten ahold of that? I guess the AKC no longer needs them since they computerized everything? I would have thought they would still keep them though.
WOW !! and look at the price ! why would the akc be selling that? it seems like those books would have information about alot of peoples dogs that they might not want in just anyones hands.weird........
Evidently some private collector got them somehow. In the title it appears as if it isn't the real AKC stud books because it says AKC Quality Stud Books, but if you read the auction, it appears that they really are the original AKC Stud Books.
It would be a real treat for some dog lover to own those, but I don't see it getting any bids at that price. I would think a private sale and not an eBay auction would be more appropriate for that.
Actually, a titled field dog will often fetch a price tag of $10,000., so it may to a buyer such as that, not be an outlandish price. As a collector's item for a wealthy dog fancier, maybe. It would take up a lot of space though...
