We got 3 more goats!!!!!

Yesterday, we picked up 3 more goats - all female.  They are of the Boer breed.  One nanny is bred by the male who had the 10 lb balls (she sold him before we committed to him so we didn't get him ), but we'll have one of his offspring!  She is due around Christmas.  The other 2 are 4 month old females.  One has a deformed lip (I felt sorry for her) so we bought her and named her "Funky Lip"...lol.

The bred nanny is huge.  She weighs about 150 lbs.  This breed gets really big,...lol.  We haven't introduced them to Tuff and Hector yet, but thats going to be a hoot.  This nanny's horns are as big as Hector, who likes to rule his domain (yeah, I wanna see him stand up to her!).

I will take pics when I get home today (if JT doesn't beat me to it).  Maybe you all can help me name them.  We'll probably just call the bred one "Nanny", but the other baby needs a name.  She is a twin to Funky Lip, but she doesn't have the funky lip...lol.  We are finally starting to feel like goat farmers.....imagine that!...lol.  None of these 3 are fainters, but we are scheduled to pick up 4 more fainters in September.

Do we not have the dumbest names for our goats?...lol

Hector, Tuff, Funky Lip, Nanny, and ?

This land is killing me...lol.  I'm trying to make it a modern day Noah's Ark.  I'm now looking at buying chickens and ducks.  My city boy hubby is trying hard to keep up!...lol  I'm off to work now....got make some geedus to support my chronic goat habit.  CO-OP is now my favorite place to shop...lol

Pretty soon you'll be seeing JT carrying around a staff whilst herding your 500 goats!! lol. Now you should get an australian shepherd or a border collie to help him out!! LMAO. But congrats on all your new bundles!! Holy cow, I didn't think you guys were gonna turn into a goat farm!!

Can't wait to see some pics. I had a goat once and she stayed in the house...LOL!!! She would sleep in bed with me and she was even potty trained. She loved bath time. I had to finally get rid of her when she was getting way too big. Her name was Clemmy.

we used to have a farm. we had a horse, pony, cows, pigs, chickens, a coyote, opposum and several cats and dogs. it was alot of work. but i hardly ever went to town because i got so much enjoyment spending time with the animals. my hubby always called me elly mae because i spent most of my time with all my critters. when he died, my family didnt want me out there alone, we didnt even have a phone, so they sold everything and i went to stay at my brothers for awhile. i sure miss it though. you will probably keep getting more pets , like i did. but you will know all their names, their personalities and love them all !! enjoy !

Name the other goat Shandy, I can't beleive you have that many goats already. I think in a year you will double. How you gonna keep the fainters from the biguns.

Puttin, we are fencing off different areas to keep the breeds/sexes apart when needed.  Nanny is bred already so we don't have to separate her from Tuff, but the two little ones have to be kept apart.  Goats can breed at 4 months, but need to be at least a year old before you allow them to breed.  Hector can run with any of them because he has been banded (aka neutering in the dog world...lol).

I didn't get to take pics yesterday because it was raining, but hopefully today!  I'll post them after I get home.
