I have mixed feelings about that article. I don't really like that they call these certain types of dogs mutts. Some of these what they call "Mutts" make great service dogs and help alot of people out when it comes to allergy's. They need to re-think just about everything they said in that article. Thats just my opinion.

I personally don't mind the name mutt. But then I have never used it in a bad way. I always call Oscar a mutt but he is a purebred. My only problem with the new mix breeds is not the dog but the breeders. 2500 for a dog is way too much for a dog in my opinion....

Paige, I totally agree about the breeder part. It just seems like an an incredible amount of money to pay for a dog. Even if they were purebred, that would be pretty steep I think.

I have never paid more than 300 for a dog. But if I get a neapolitan mastiff I'm gonna have to pay like 800. But I swear I will never pay more than 800 for a dog....NEVER!!!

my frenchies were 1875.00 and 1400.00. they are both purebred .rocky is akc and annie is in the process of switching from rkf to akc. i thought that was high.but it is the average price for frenchies. i have seen them as high as 3500.00. i cant see how they can charge 2500 for a mix. what i really dont understand is why someone would pay that price for those mixes.you can buy them from a shelters for less than 200 dollars. and designer breeds are not a "breed" at all . they are a mix. i just dont see why people that want a mix, dont check out the shelters. they have so many that would make wonderful pets.

I have know idea how much frenchies are around here. Mainly because there are none here. But I know the most expensive breed I see here is English Bulldogs...and they are 1500 and up. I

My 'puggle' cost me 19.00!!! lol   Pound fees!   I honestly never would have paid hundreds of dollars for one. I am just really glad I went to the pound that day!!  I love her SO much. I love Rock just as much but he is a "Daddy's boy!"

well i would have gladly got a frenchie from a rescue had there been a rescue in this state.there were only two breeders in this state and both had two year waiting list. quinn and i have wanted a french bulldog for a long time.and they are rare to none here.i figure at 50 years old , i am entitled to the breed of choice and if it cost me an arm and a leg and makes me happy , that is what counts. i wouldnt have been happy with anything else. we paid a high price for our pups, yes, but we are happy and so are they. and that is whats most important.

No problem thats one of the reasons I got trinity. My mother didn't want me to have a dog but I told her (after i got trinity) that I really needed a dog. Cats are fine but they don't do much. Plus they aren't dogs and at that point in my lilfe I was taking therpy casue I had really bad depression from my uncle being murdered and with a dog they lighten your spirts. Once I got her I also started getting out more before I got her and someone asked me what I wanted to do my anwser was always I don't care but now I do care.

I like/love cats but a dog comes first in my life. Harvey has been an angel.. i had struggled with depression for a long time and the pills only do so much but once Harvey arrived he helped me get back on track (like trinity did with u PD) and im off the pills and had no more probs with depression since. I know what you mean Pd about not getting out much as i felt like that when i was depressed. All i wanted to do was stay in the house like a Hermit. But once again Harvey (apart from Michael being a star and hugely suppourtive) gave me a reason to get out. Dogs are great for therapy

my dogs are the reason i want to be home. i dont like being away from them too long. when i leave and come back they act like i have been gone forever. it feels good to have so much love greeting you when you come home. i would be lost without them. they are my life. Kiss The Dog

Harvey (and Michael!) are my life. I love the way Harvey is so excited when he sees me in the morning or when come home with his little stump of a tail whirring around.. it makes you feel so loved. Im dreading going to south africa an leaving him behind ..im gonna cry so much when i go and when i come back

i love walking through the door and being greeted by unconditional love.  she doesnt care where ive been or what ive done, she is just happy to see me.      i look so forward to coming home to my baby.  and i spend most all of my off time with her and take her everywhere i can.
