I really like the tile work around the sink.

If you want to see a ugly bathroom you shoud see mine. It like a falsh back to the 60s. When we start redoing I'll take a picture. But I'm afraid it will break the camara. But anyways...our bathroom is blue. Blue sink, toliet, and bath tub. UGGGGGG!!!!! Its so ugly. I have to hurry when I am in there because it scares me.

Dusty, you just don't get how ugly it is. LOL!!!! I want my bathroom to be neutral with a claw foot tub. I want it to be spa like. My bathroom looks like someone threw up blue. Even the floor is blue and the walls are sponge painted blue and peach.

it could get costly replacing the toilet, tub and sink. thats why we havent done it yet. our tub is one of those big corner garden tubs.and the shower is seperate. i hate the color, its a tanish yellowy color. ugly. but it would be expensive to replace so i have to live with it. lol. i wonder if there is a way you can have them resurfaced in the color you want without having to replace them

In the bathroom I showed, I painted the shower. Lowe's has a special paint for it. I forget at the moment what it is called.  It worked pretty well, but I don't know about a big tub like that. The toilet, shower, and sink was blue in there too.  I replaced the toilet and sink.

Oh we are gutting the bathroom and kitchen and starting from scratch. After we pay the house off next year we are setting aside 25 thousand to make the changes we want.

well, its 25 thousand for everything we want to do. Including walling up some doors, putting new flooring in, and redoing some electric/plumbing. Luckily we can do it all ourselves. Brad dad has a degree for all the wiring and stuff. And with the backyard we plan on totally gutting it too. We are putting in a tornado shelter and a hot tub back there. And maybe a deck. I can't wait. All the work is gonna take a long time. But with us doing it without the help of professionals we will save tons of money.

thats our next project..a deck. its not real expensive for the deck kits. its hiring someone to put it up that really cost. my son is graduating carpentry soon at job corp. he said he would put it up for us. my brother-in-law said he would help. he built their deck and its a large fancy one. i just want to be able to put my lawn furiture on a deck instead of just out in the yard.

with you guys doing your own work you will save mass money. i am just not that talented. lol

thanks tuna..i'd guess you would pay me in fish lol.

I cant wait to move and get cracking on a new house. The house i live in is shared with another south african aswell as michael. And we are going to move to somewhere better. Michael gets the house free with his job so we cant put to much money into it else we may lose out financially if we had to move again. I desperate to get another home 100% ours not shared and start renovating

yeah but it must be nice to have a place for free. before my first husband was killed we had a 12 acre farm rent free just for keeping an eye on the property. it belonged to jays boss at the plywood mill where he worked. he was worried about someone cutting trees off the back of the property as it was pretty isolated out there. we only had a couple of neighbors and they were far enough away we couldnt see them. it was a small little house but the privacy was so nice. he let us live there for free as caretakers. it was kind of like little house on the prairie. lol
