collar or harness?

Im gonna start Hyde's leash training soon, I was wondering if it would be better for him to use a harness? or should I just stick with a collar?

I was worried about pulling on his neck with the collar. Not that he pulls or anything, I just dont want to hurt him.

What do you guys think?

I think I've heard of those, Twink and they do look really safe and nice. I use a prong training collar on my dogs. It works really well for training, but it does wear off some of their neck hair though.

I can praise the canny collar design enough they are worth every single penny~they are absolutely amazing you can put the worst dog that drags you along in one of those and they immediately walk to heel , They are great for handling large breeds especially as you have great control over them and are good for dogs who could possibly snap as you can instantly snap there jaws shut with it. the design means that when the dog pulls his nose is brought down towards his chest and stops them in their tracks and its great because there is no pressure on the neck ..you can get them in loads of sizes Harveys just grown out of N0. 3 so we had to buy the 4. They are made very well and everyone always asks me where i got it.

I use a prong collar too. And Oscar still has his neck hair. I have thought to use a gentle leader or Halti. I really am not a harness fan for large dogs.

I use a step-in harness for Chason because he only weighs 6.5lbs. I love the step-in feature...the first one we got was next to impossible to figure out.
