Just got this in my inbox from a friend..just thought i would share its very sad..
There has been a tragedy in the show dog world which involves a Golden Retriever named Jag. He was strangled to death while left unattended on a grooming table by his paid professional handlers. The handlers did not admit to the accident and instead tried to cover up his death with telling the owners that the dog had been lost while exercising him. After almost two months of searching (by tons of people) it appears a witness has come forward that saw the dog hanging from the grooming table noose.
There is an attempt to get AKC to pass a rule requiring penalties for ANYONE at a dog show leaving a dog unattended on a grooming table.
The assistance of this list is requested in signing the petition so that we can assure that all dogs, both show and pets, are protected from cruel treatment.
that is so sad and odd. from what i have seen of the dog shows, there is alot of hussle and bustle . you would think someone would have noticed the dog was in trouble. that handler should be banned from ever handling anyone elses dogs. i thought about showing rocky. but if i ever do, i will do it myself. i am the only one that i trust with my dogs. i know no one will watch them and care for them like i do.
thats what i thought was odd. you would have thought they would have saw him...he must have been thrashing about.. its not as if a dog would just dangle there still and quiet and suffocate to death
omg, how awful :(:( People do the stupidest things...you wouldn't leave a kid on a high table with a rope around it's neck all alone, now would you? :(
