I was wanting to try that Aveeno Oatmeal bath stuff, how can I use it? I'll be bathing her outside, but I have a baby pool if it needs to be mixed in with the water or anything. Or can I mix it in a pitcher and use it as a shampoo? Very confused here. ha
the directions will be on the packet. i would put it directly in the water and stir it around real good. its a soak, so you will need to make sure she gets it all over her body. maybe get her to lie down in it on one side for awhile and then the other .you can get a pitcher and scoop up the water and keep pouring it over her back and neck. it wont hurt if it gets in her eyes. it should relieve her itching problem.
I use regular cooking oil i give the dobes three tbl spns in their food once daily and my cocker gets two and lil gidget gets one. LoL telling you this because they are different sizes. My pits get the same as the dobes. You can also go to walmart and get fishoil. it comes in soft gels 60 in a bottle they are by spring valley and they cost about 4 dollars for 60 of them. once a day in their food helps theyr skin and coat. You would be surprised how it helps. Also bath less so as not to dry out skin. If you brush often it gets the oils flowing and keeps the coat clean baghing too much can cause dry skin and swimming if they swim in clorinated water. not sure the circumstances or how often you baith your dog so I am trying to cover all the bases. Their food has a lot to do with it too I have seen dogs on foods they have eaten all their lives develope skin problems such as this and it is just a developed allergy to the food. The tips I gave you are very helpful for dry skin and are all I can think of at the moment. Good luck!

I give her and Joe olive oil every morning in their food.....She'd be really hard to soke since she's such a wimp when it comes to water.....I do hose them off almost everyday since it's been in the 90s lately, can that cause dandruff? I brush both of them once a day....I will try just pouring the mix over her and getting it down to her skin...thanks :)
Edit: I bathe them once a month or so...usually 4 days before I put frontline plus on them....their last application for the summer will be on the 8th-9th.

It's possibility it could be adding to their dry there skin..depends on how good your water is in your area... The water in our area is full of limescale and is really brutal on my skin and not forgetting Harveys~
But sadly he has no choice..i cant see me washing him or myself in bottled water anytime soon
I don't know how are water is here...I just shower and go. I already gave them a bath a while ago, i mixed in the aveeno in the baby pool and used a pitcher and rinsed and scrubbed sophie with it for about 10 minutes....I also saw a tip that you can mix water and a little avon skin so soft in a bottle and spritz the dogs about once a week, I did both of them...it keeps them from drying out...(well, sophie, she has the dandruff)
