My son is very active in sports....well.....tries to be anyway.
Last year, two week until baseball. Runs a 4 wheeler into a tree, broken arm.
Puts him out for the summer, no golfing. Tryouts for the golf team roll around and he doesn't play so well, would have made varsity as a freshmen, but was lacking from no practice all summer.
Wrestling starts, right after first match, kid breaks his ankle for him, out for the most of season. Gets to wrestle in last two tournys, re-injures ankle!!!!!!
So after a 500.00 driver for birthday and a summer of very expensive lessons from a lady who played in the LPGA.
Tryouts for the golf team started yesterday, he came in 5th out of 15....tryouts are all week.
After the morning tryout, he went to a friends house. They were out rididng bikes. He decides to do about 20 MPH and do a full street length wheelie, like he does often.
Well, lost his balance, jumps off before falling and in the process COMPLETELY shreds his knee. Not the skin, just the muscle and ligement with two small fractures. His knee was the size of a small balloon. I just got home to take a shower, it is 5:19 am. I slept in the most uncomfortable thing the hospital calls a recliner.
Anyways, big surgery today. I can't believe the luck, or lack of luck, this kid has.
He says to me as he is laying in the hospital "Funny thing is, Mom, I fell almost 20 feet out of a tree today and scared myself to death thinking I was going to get hurt, but I didn't. Then an hour later I do this!!"
I feel so bad for him! Well, needless to say, I may be away for a few days. I am not positive yet that they will get him in today for surgery. They are going to try though. I am on stress overload! And I leave for Vegas in two weeks!! (Maybe??)
Talk to you guys later....got to get ready and get back there. He was sleeping and want to be there before he gets up.
so sorry to hear about your son mpp. some people go through life and never have any thing happen to them and others get more than their share . i hope he has a full recovery and no more injuries ! we as parents suffer more than our kids. but we never stop worrying about them, not even after their grown and gone. and then grandkids are added so we have even more to worry about. you need to get some rest . i will keep your family in my prayers. i,m sure he will be fine !
Jeez. Those would be reasons #376 thru #381, that I never had kids Sorry to hear that. Guess you are a big fan of insurance payments. Doesn't sound like you can be w/o the stuff when you have family.
Yeah he needs a bubble. Like the one they raced in on the Stars that are loosing weight reality show. Talk you son into taking up a more inactive hobby. Hope the surgery goes well. My nephew had surgery on his knee not long ago.
