LOL when my theropist wanted to put me on anti-deprissions she wanted to talk to the doctor I had been seeing so I said fine. Well the doctor I had been seeing was from primacare and I saw him 2 times. Once for a toe nail that got ripped off and was infected and then a stomach bug. Well when I gave his number to my theropists she called him right there and then while i was in the room. Well the doctor told her that he thought I was doing drugs because I had been getting injuryed so much. Yes I will admit that I got injuryed 2 times in a hort period of time but for him to say that just from seeing me twice really pissed me off. Excuse my languauge its just this is where all my troubles really started cause. 1 month after this is when my theropist moved and i lost contact with her and then I lost my job and then i went broke. And now I am here. I think its kind of obvious that my nerves are gettign to me.

Good luck! I'm sure you will do just fine. I had to take one of those tests for a job once. It was actually when I was just 18 and applying for a cashier position. I thought they had to be kidding, lol. They have really silly questions like, "If a co-worker was stealing from the company would you tell your superviser?"...really 'duh' type questions. I personally don't think they are all that great, because really, the people that wouldn't tell, would say they would just to get the job.

Good luck p.d. , You can go to the health food store and get a natural sleep aid.  I took some at one time.  Its 5-htp I beleive it was called.  I don't know that you would need it once in job core as they will keep you very busy I am sure of it.  But I took the natural product and it did help.  Just 1 about an hour before you go to bed.

I think seeing a doc two times, and claiming you are into drugs is sooooo very unfar. I mean for an infection you may get anti-biotics.  How can you get high on that? I have had a sore toe once, It hurt alot. I stuck it out and did not go to the doc though. But not everyone has the same pain tolerance.

I wish you all the luck in the world.

woah PD that is so unfair..i would have kicked that doc right up the bum.

I applied for a job in childcare ( after having severe depression 2 years before) I had to fill in a massively important form to make sure im not an axe wielding psycho or a child molester and they check absolutely everthing.. If you have gaps in employment you have to explain where and what you were doing etc.

well i had to give a health record and had to disclose that i had depression. They checked with my doc and he had to fill in a form saying what i was like in general health wise. Well whatever he wrote wasnt good as they said i failed because of the depression being on my records.

Even though it was 2 years previous, and on my own dragged myself out of it with not taking huge amounts of prozac ..( i took them for approx 3 months before i demanded to be taken off them because of complications i was having with them)

It was kind of a blessing in disguise though as the nursery shut down 4 months later with bankrupcy (sp)

Twink I have a cousin in London that does childcare also. I've not talked with her for awhile though. What sort of work will you be going for?

my son josh had to go through a psych evaluation before he could go to job corp. they thought he had some problems with depression.which he did. but most of it was caused from all the stress he was having in school and not being able to grasp what they were teaching. he did fine once he went to job corp and was able to work at his own pace without the pressure.

I think now adays just about every kid has some form of depression. It wouldn't suprise me cause they put so much stress on kids now adays that if something bad happens outside of school then that the straw that brakes the camels back. Most teachers and people who work at the school seem to think well at least act like the kids don't have a life outside of school.  Iactually confronted one of my teachers about this and he said school is my life and nothing other. I told him to shove it in a nice way. LOL

i agree ! i used to go round and round with the school about josh. i think some kids learn slower than others. josh got behind and felt he couldnt catch up so he quit trying. he just gave up. i tried to have them put him in special ed where he could get more one on one help, but they said he just wasnt applying himself. its amazing how he went to job corp and got his GED without any problem.
