HELP!!!

i was going to my kitchen to get a drink and I hear meowing...There is a cat left in a travel crate on the floor! The cat is fat, too big for the travel crate, and I have no idea how long he has been there. I opened the door so I could give him some tuna and water but he hissed at me and tried to claw my arms so i got scared and closed it quick. what worries me is that he is breathing like a pig, he is snorting and panting like a dog..ive never had cats, i am NOT a cat person, and to top it all off I am allergic to cats!!! someone please give some advice i am so clueless..i called my neighbors that i know, noone knows anything

Who's cat is it? I think i'm a bit lost. How could a cat just end up in a travel crate in your house and you not know about it? Sorry to sound kinda rude but i'm just confused.

If I were you I would open the door and set some food outside of the crate along with some water. He'll come out when he's ready. Then try to pick him up or something to see if his breathing has improved any.

That's okay, I'm confused too! I am calling everyone I know ..no one is claiming it, I don't think someone would just walk in my house, but there is a door in my kitchen that leads outside so I wouldn't know if i was upstairs in the shower or something but i really doubt someone would come in and leave a cat! I have 5 dogs. My boyfriend is at work and I doubt that he left it there but if for some odd reason he did, i still feel bad for the thing it is big and seems sick

OK? I think i'd be a lil freaked if I didn't know how a cat in a crate ended up in my house. Then again I have come home to cats that I have never seen before sitting in my living room. LOL

Move him into a different room where you can shut a door where the dogs will not bother him. Open the crate and see what happens. Just incase i'd find something to make a make-shift litter box out of just incause he has to go!

I think i will set him up in the bathroom...but what if it is not a him? The cat seems pretty big, I am a bit worried it could be a pregnant female, is there any way to tell?(without getting attacked) i am so confused but these are some things others are telling me i might have to take into consideration

i would be more concerned that if it wasnt your boyfriend ,then who put the cat there. its scary that someone could just walk in your house while you are there alone. your doors should be locked when you are home alone. i dont want to have to worry about someone attacking you or worse.

hopefully it was your bf that put the cat there. i would let him/her loose in a secured room and put out a temporary cat box and food and water. it looks too large to be kept in that small of a cage for very long. he/she is probably only hissing at you out of fear and not meaness Black Cat 2

He might be sick. Also one reason he probably tried to claw you is cause he is probably scared. The best thing to do for the time being is put him in a room by himself put food and water down. Then open the door and leave the room and close the door behind you. The cat will come out soon enough.
