Lovin, I have a paypal account and I have tried to donate both with my account, logging in and by just going the credit card route. It is not allowing it. It said something like your payment time has expired. I thought I was going to slow or something so I did it again, same thing. Am I the only one having problems. I just used my paypal account yesterday to send money and it went perfectly. Anyone else with problems.??????????
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! See I told you that you are an angel!!! You are a wonderful person for helping so much! I will make sure and keep you updated! We are going to put the new info on Hollys page soon, so people wont have to think it is a scam! Thanks again June, you really are a saint!
Holly still hasnt recieved any new donations at this time. But I did go to the IMOM site and we may be able to get a little help there! Luckily I started contacting them yesterday because as of TODAY they stopped accepting new applications! So thats good, but the bad news is that IMOM typically sends payment after the surgery, and Dr. Anderson said he needs 75% upfront-no exceptions. I told him to just send in his diagnosis/prognosis/ and everything else and maybe we could still get something out of it. Maybe just being able to post a link, to Hollys page-who knows! So its a good news, bad news kind of day I guess. Oh, I did get an emailed promise of 50.00 from some Pug group lady, but she couldnt access geocities on her work computer so we shall see! But I dont want to say 50.00 more until later! Thanks again Puttin~Ill let you know if anything else is new!
Oh, I forgot to mention one other thing Dr. Anderson mentioned today. Without complications it will be more like 2200.00-2500.00 for Hollys shunt surgery.
$820.00 and a 2 people emailed saying they sent checks! Yeeaayyy for Holly! And the vet is talking with the Accounts department at the U to see if we can work something out! Progress definatly!
We are at $925.00 today so making a little more progress. { One more donation on its way to the U of Minnesota by check also.} The U of M won't work payments out so I am very disappointed, but as long as Holly can hold on a while. I also got everything in and almost got it approved with IMOM-financial aid for pets in need, but the U won't work with IMOM either. Its a bummer, but Hollys Vet tried to get the accounting department to work with us, so I really appreciate all the help and all the calls he made for us.
Thanks Stormy, Holly and I appreciate that very much! I just drove past Hollys local Vets office and they put a flyer in there front window Thats pretty nice considering they do Greyhound Rescue {Northern Lights I believe there name is} as well. They sell all sorts of Greyhound stuff for the Rescue, and they do the Greyhound vet work there as well as accept donations for there Rescue. So I thought that was sweet too! It really gives me a warm feeling to know that people care so much for her. Ive got people emailing me asking for updates, asking where we are at with the total funds raised as well. Its heartwarming to know that even strangers really care-{I wish the U of M accounting department cared as much!} I shouldnt say that, or smear the name because I know Hollys surgeon tried doing everything in his power! The doc said "its a government run institution, so I can imagine all the beurocracy." And I do know that, I just wish they did payment plans !! So thats the update for the day. Unless I get an email saying Holly got more in PayPal, then she didnt get anything new today. I did get another link for another Pug Group emailed to me today, so I will give that a shot too! Thanks again Stormy { Like Ive said before he is such a doll!!!} I love his pics- he is a very photogenic boy!
Thanks Puttin! We may end up trying to get her to Tenneessee. Not sure if I spelled it correctly though you probably know what I mean. Holly had an accident on the carpet, and for some thats no big deal, but for Holly it is. That means diaper time, and also usually means time for another relapse. Not good forsure. It will break my heart to bring her down there because if there are complications, I will have to leave without her. On the brighter side 25.00 was creidited to her account at the U of M though. I don;t know, I am confused and I wish I lived in Tenneessee.
Surgery here= $2500.00 highest without complications
Surgery in TN=$1600.00 highest and an extra night in intensive care included.
I have enough for the Tenneessee one now, {We have almost 1000 raised plus my own $$} I just would hate to have to go home, and leave her if something happened. I really dont think I can do that.
If you can get it done for a better price, you should. As long as the vet hospital knows this surgery very well. If its something they don't specialize in, it would worry me. Right now, I think just doing what Holly needs is what should be thought about. I know it will be hard, but she will be in good hands. I think if I had the choice thats what I would do. You have been working hard to make sure she gets what SHE needs. Remember this is all for her. Try to put your feelings aside. This will mean she can get it done sooner right. Dogs with liver shunts probably walk around pretty much feeling pretty crudy. So I would get it done the quickest way if possible. That would be the most important thing.
