I think when a family member or a friend has a baby on the way, it makes you feel like you want one too!  I think "baby fever" is epecially contagious! lol !!   Its hard not to hold a newborn little "Angel" and not think about it!   Babies are so innoscent and so precious!  Really a gift indeed!  I remember how sweet my 3 little angels smelled!!  Congratulations on your families new addition!  When my nephew was born,  I was so so happy, and just bursting with pride and happiness!  And I still do to this day!   Go for it if your ready! And best wishes!
