I just got back from taking trintiy for her walk. Since about 2 months ago I got injuryed trintiy hadn't been walked in about a month in a half after I injuryed my ankle. Well about 2 or 3 weeks ago I decided to start walking her again and found out that she wasn't healing any more when I walked her so right now I'm in the process of walking her. Well usually I just take her around the block and thats it but since she had been doing so well I decided to take her on her old walking routie which is the one that I also ended up hurting my ankle on. This routie is basiclly about a 2 hour walk. From my house we walk the 3 or 4 blocks to the park and we take the path that goes all the way around the park and then we walk the 3 or 4 blocks home. Well today when we got to the park before we even started to take the path around it my ankle started to hurt again. I made it all the way home but with my ankle in horrible pain. My doctor told me that if it was still acting up after the 4 days of physical therpy and the month on cruthces to come back to see him. I have hurt my ankle before but it has never hurt this bad a month after the recovery period was over. My question is Should I be worried and call the doctor about my ankle or just ignore it and put ice on it and thats it?
Go call your doc !! Um, I really would hate to see you permanantly damage your ankle. Take the doc's advise to make sure there is not permanent damage done to it!
Maybe you went to far too soon. Just short walks that get longer and longer would be best. Have the dr. at least advise you. Have you done any ankle strengthening excerizes?
Today I decided to just take trinity around the block or maybe 2 blocks depending on how my ankle feels. Well I left the house like any other day I take her for a walk and it seems like she is just getting worse with the pulling. Before I injuryed my ankle she never pulled that much but now it has gotten really bad. I haven't changed anything. Well today I was 2 houses away from mine and she pulled me so I stopped and waited for her to turn around and look at me but before she did she pulled me again and this time harder and she pulled me to the ground. Now my ankle is swollen again and my knee that had gotten cut up for last time is cut up again. Is there any other way I can train trintiy not to pull while on the leash because this way is just not working?
i would get it checked out by the doc.. i fractured my wrist about a year ago and i get some serious pains in it and it gives out on me and is weaker... somethings are never quite how they used to be even after a minor accident..i twisted me knee in my teens nothing broke it just bent weird lol and that has never been the same
Well when I first hurt it and the doctor looked at the X-rays we saw a crack so he had the radologist look at it. He called me back sayign it wasn't broken. Well everytime it hurt it hurt in one area and it hurt bad. He ignored it and at one point he said that the only thing they had yet to do is do and MRI on it to see if there was a small fracture they couldn't see. I never got the MRI and the only reason I can't go to the doctor now is because I have no health insurance which means I have to pay all out of pocket and no one in my family can afford that. Just to get an MRI on my foot it would cost over 2k.
As far as giving some suggestions as to what might help you out with walking Trinity and reducing her pulling you I do have a couple of questions. What type of collar are you using and how far had she gotten in obed. training as far as heeling is concerned? If you can give me a little bit of background on that I might be able to give you some ideas that might help out so you can keep your ankle as safe as possible.
PD- if you went to a county hospital, could they help you? I thought if you went to a county hospital and you had no insurance and could not afford it, they had to help you. I am not sure about that though
