Every week when I get a chance I go to Petfinder.com and look under the classifieds for dogs and cats that are lost. I also look at the newspaper and then I search for the dog or cat online, like threw the pound website or I look at found listings in the local paper. I have found 6 animals so far, and just this mornning I found my 7th!
I visit this Cigar store everyother day. Last time I was there I noticed a lost dog sign with a picture. I commited the pic to my memory and just now went to petfinder and looked under the animals found section, and the second listing was the dog! This was the easiest one I have had yet. I left an email for the guy who found the dog, letting him know I saw a sign for a lost dog that matched the description he gave and the dog was lost in the same city that this guy had found the dog! So hopefully owner and dog will be reunited later today!
I started doing this when my cat Tristan got lost, I would search for her everywhere, everyday. Eventually cause I was always looking at the same lost dogs and cats, that when i saw a Lost dog ad, I would remeber seeing that lost dog on some website and I would contact the owner and let them know where they could find their missing pet. I love doing this, and I never collect a reward, even if one is offeredcause I hope that one day if one of my dogs ever out that someone like me would find them and do whatever they could to bring them back to me.
So these are my good deeds for the day, that just make me feel better knowing a lost pet is home safe and sound!
you are a blessing syd. alot of people wouldnt bother. my son had a lab years ago. she dissappered out of our fenced yard.we posted her pic around town with our phone number. a lady that worked for a school accross town called and said she noticed a lady that had walked her kid to school everyday, suddenly started having a lab with her that looked like the pic she had seen.she followed the woman home and got the address. when we pulled up, babe was in a fenced yard on the porch. the lady tried to say that she had adopted the dog from the shelter.we knew she was lying when i said i was calling to verify it. and babe was all over my son when we went in the yard. a few days later we saw her driving slowly by our house ! she had come back to steal her again ! if it wasnt for the lady from the school checking it out we would have never got her back ! keep up the good work syd !!
