If I didn't live so far from Texas I'd probably make that trip.

How cool!! Living in TX I would have to go. About 10 minutes from my house is a herd of camals. I think there are about 100 of them. The babies are so cute.

They haven't ok'd it yet. They're still debating on whether it's a good idea or not. I sure hope they do though!! Who needs to leave America when there's soo much beauty here already and they're *hopefully* bringing in more?? Now that would be a fun vacation!! And this event would be historical as well!!

There use to be a plce here in texas where you drove through the park feeding all the wild animals but you weren't aloud out of your car while you were in the park. They ended up closing because of a bad drout(sp) that came through and the animals were dying because they didn't have enough water so the animals that were left were sent to zoos and other places and they closed. I miss that place it was so cool when the graffies came up to the car to eat the food out of your hand and they would try to eat parts of the car. LOL

Cute idea.
I doubt if it would work.
Reminds me of Jurassic Park.

LMAO@Kitty!! I thought the exact same thing when I first read it, but I think they could give it a shot. I bet it would take a while for the animals to adjust to the vegetation and climate in the US though. Hopefully none of them would die in the process.

The other place I talked about that had closed. They got most of there animals for zoos who had over crowding of a certain type of animals they needed. The other came from reservations. This might be what they end up doing but who knows.

I would become a big game hunter if I caught a lion in the yard stalking one of my Labradors or one of my toddlers if I had one

The animals aren't free to roam the town there is a fence up around the whole thing. I know the one that closed here had a fence the was really expensive that stood 15 feet high. Had wood one the outside and an electric fence on the inside they also had 4 generaters just in case power went out and just in case one the generaters wasn't working. None of there animals never got out of the palce.

I know what place you are talking about PD. It was in San Antonio I think or in that general area. I went there when I was a kid. I think it was like Arbuckle Wilderness or something like that. It was near the big cave thing you could take a tour of. I loved that place.....

Yeah, they're thinking of making a national park with all these new animals. Or adding them to another existing national park, I don't know. But I think it's a really cool idea and that's prolly where we'd end up vacationing sometime, when we have the money, finally.

we do have a place similar to that right here in washington state. in fact its only about a 10 minute drive form our place. its called northwst trek. you can walk through the animal enclosures and ride a trolly through the other part of the park where the animals roam free. you are not allowed to get out of the trolly, but the animals come right up to the windows. they have a resteraunt there too, so you can make it an all day event. my best time was going later in the day and going with the tour guide on the walk through the exotic birds. i was fascinated with the owls. lol . its a great place to take the kids and make a day out of it.
