My dad was put in the hospital on Saturday afternoon. It looks like he has a infection in the fluid that has built up in his abdomen. But last night he started talking a lot of nonsense. I think his amonia levels have gone up to make him sound weird. I plan on going back to the hospital after I get off work. Hopefully the doctors will get his problems under control so he can somewhat go back to a normal life.
The doctor just got done talking to my dad. He said that he has a least 15 years left. Which is good news. But my dad is still kind of talking crazy. He will probably be in the hospital another 3 days. The doctor also mentioned a liver transplant.
sorry that your dad is sick. its hard on the family members to go through it too. take care of yourself too. you dont need to make yourself sick too. i will keep him in my prayers.
Well, I just got back from the hospital. I think we need another doctor. We are getting a second opinion Wednesday. Now they are saying that its not cirrhosis but maybe pancreatitus. They are doing a scope on him Wednesday morning. They are gonna go through his nose and his other end. They are going to totally check everything out. My head is hurting so I think I'm gonna go to bed. I just wish these damn doctors would figure something out.
Oh Paige, I hope he gets better soon. I know what it is like to worry. I was so scared for my father. Luckily, he is SO much better. I am praying for your dad. Keep us posted. Take care of yourself too. It is easy to let these things get you down.
It's so frustrating when nobody can figure out what's wrong. Hopefully, the scope will give the doctors the information they need. I'm wishing your father an accurate diagnosis and a speedy recovery.

He is getting demoral...which he shouldn't be getting. But the pain is pretty bad so they have to make him comfortable. They did lower his dose though. If it is his liver they have to be careful on what they gove him because his liver takes longer to get teh drugs out of his system. I plan on going back up there after dinner and I plan on being up there for his scoping. Thanks again. I am just getting really frustrated with the doctors. Now I know why I never go to a doctor.
They are scoping him today through the throat and the opposite end. Hopefully they will find something out. It is scheduled for 1 but we are trying to move it forward. I am such a nervous wreck. he could even have pancreatic cancer. I pray he doesn't but that is something he may have. I will update as soon as I know something else.
