I found out today during dinner with my mother that my uncle neans gilrfriends grandmother might have stayed in new orleans. I hope she didn't but we haven't heard anything yet. The rest of her family was staying in tennesse with her and my uncle and left yesterday afternoon to go to george to see my uncle neans girlfreinds aunt. So once they get there my uncle gets there hes going to call us to tell us if she is there or what is going on.
I hope all is well for them! Everyone there needs our prayers. My in laws managed to get out but didn't take anything with them, so they basicly have nothing at all.
I will let ya'll know everything. I was told by my grandparents that my uncle will tell us what is all going on when he comes into town on tuesday. He does feel kind of bad about one thing. WIth everyone talking about the dead bodys and everything polluting the water and everything else. That made him think he's old dog that got hit by a car was bauryed in the backyard of his girlfreinds familys house.
Pd, I hope your family is all safe. It is all just devistating to see. I feel so badly for all of those people. They are all in such bad spots that none can get any news of any help coming their way. They really think that no one is willing to help them and that we all don't care. I hope that just someone getting in there to tell them that help coming. It just may take a bit of time. We really all do care. Here in California, there are all sorts of fundraisers going on, places to drop off money and clothing to help towards the relief.
Have you seen any of the bus loads of people coming into Texas yet?
I hope they are safe. We were planning on going to New Orleans in November. I have a feeling that won't be happening. Such a beautiful city almost gone.
And I have also heard that they might be housing some people in Dallas.
Yeah union arean is being used to house alot of the people that are coming here. They are also using YMCA gyms and stuff but for some reason they are being stupid over here. They are turning away some of the people that came here from the golf. They are saying that only like the people from new orleans can stay in the area. They are even turing away people who are coming up there to give them food and clothes. Plus they say that they are only going to be able to stay there for like at the most a month. They are saying if we want to help or find loved ones or donate that we have to call red cross. If you try to take it up there they will turn you away. One guy who came up here from new orlaens talked to fox 4 news and he spoke on the air because he has decided to stay here and since it will be a while before they can go back he needs a job. The very next day a guy called him and he now has a job.
I hope she's okay. Communication there is nearly impossible, so even if she stayed and if nobody has heard from her, she still might be okay. I'll keep her in my thoughts and wish for the best. Let us know when you find out any new information.

I don't know, she did not say. That is just a very selfless thing to do for your baby. God bless that women. I hope she and her baby are ok. These poor little babies need milk, formula, diapers. This is sickening.
Yesterday I was awtching the news amd there were some boats going around picking up people from the roof tops and they passed a beautiful rott and 2 boats just drove right past and ignored it. That kind of pissed me off that they could have saved the dogs life and they didn't. I don't know what happened to the dog but I really would like to know.

That is incredibly heartbreaking and I too would feel upset, but I guess they look at it like the animals would be taking up room that a human could be occupying, which I can understand. The whole situation is just horrific. What someone just said about the lady and her baby is just the stuff nightmares are made of.
There are places here acting as shelters. Someone told me about them tonight at school and so I went and got some really basic things, like personal hygeine items. And I gathered up the kids' outgrown clothing and threw it in the wash. I feel so helpless and I become so upset when they describe it on TV or the radio. A few of the kids from there had their social security cards and have been able to enroll in school here. My mom says there are 2 at the school she works at.
I just heard on the news that some people are turning this into a rascisis thing. They are saying that if there were blacks stranded then whites then they would get rescues faster. This just pisses me off that they would start that when they know there are so many other problems we have to worry about. One man said that there were men just grabing women and rapping them all over the place.
