Its back in the crate for Zoe, at least while I take Katie to the bus stop. I get Kaitlyn up at 8 to get her dressed for school, at 8 I also let the dogs outside. I make the dogs stay outside until 8:50 which is when we leave to go to the bus. I make them stay outside for that long because of Zoe. She goes and pee's but than she comes right back and sits at the door. I know its her poo time. Monday she was fine she howled when I left, she also poo'd outside that day, and she watched me walk away. When I got home there was no destruction. Tues. when I got home she had left me a nice little surprise in front of the door. I actually rubbed her nose in it. I felt so bad about it but I thought it was worth a try. She knew exactly what I was going to do to. She fought me with everything she had. I finally had to wrap my arm around her front legs to keep them out of the way. So I rubbed her nose in it and put her outside. Wed. the same thing happened. Today it happened again. I'm only gone to the bus for 3 minutes. She sits by the door outside and holds it because she knows what I'm going to do. The way we walk to the bus is the way we go when I take the dogs for a walk. I think she thinks I'm going on a walk without her. She's always been spiteful, I've never seen a dog as smart as her. If she could speak she would be smarter than me I think. She is just unreal. I thought yesterday that I would just take her to the bus stop with me but to Zoe that would be like she won so I can't do that. That is what she's wanting and if she wasn't poo'ing at the door when I left I might would consider it but since she's being spiteful about it she'll just have to go in her crate instead.

The only thing I can suggest is just leave her outside until you are positive she went outside. Thats what I do with trinity when its raingin. When it rains she use to hold it until she came inside and then do her busniss inside. SO I just started leaving her outside until I was positive she did it out there. Sometimes she stayed out all day long.
I would like to do that PD and I've thought about it. I know I'm only 3 min. from the bus stop but I don't want to leave the dogs outside while I'm not home. When they're outside they are under constant supervision. I just can't bring myself to leave them out alone even for 3 min. Thats why she's going to go in her crate for the 3 minutes I'm gone.

Another thing I just thougth of was that you could always put her crate outside and put her in it. She might be thinking she won if you let her inside but if she is in her crate and outside that might get it across that she has not won and she needs to stop.
You guys think so? It kind of seems counter productive to me. It seems like she'll be thinking, Well, I'm outside so I'm supposed to potty but I'm in my crate where I'm not supposed to potty. I feel like she'll get confused. She's already confused enough with her gender issues and her thinking she's a cat. If you guys don't think this would confuse her I'll do it.

I did it to trinity. I don't think that it will confuse her. But this way she will get the point that she doesn't come inside until she uses the restroom outside and if you put her in the crate outside then she can be outside when your not home. When you get home let her out of the crate but don't let her inside. When trinity started to do that to me the only times she came inside was in the evenings.
i never crated my dogs. but imo putting her in the crate outside would be confusing. i was always going outside with mine also. sometimes they would be outside for a long period of time and only pee. not long after being inside, i would catch annie starting to squat. i threw her right back outside and left her out there. i knew she had to go and could only hold it for so long. they dont like being outside for too long either, but too bad. i wasnt going to let her crap in the house. i would just put her outside first thing in the morning and leave her out for an hour or so. watch her closely when she comes back in. if she starts looking around or squatting ,put her right back out . it took awhile but she finally learned i meant business and now she does her busines outside only.
Dusty, thanks. The problem is that Zoe is housebroken. She's just spiteful. She's over a year old. She just thinks I'm going on a walk without her. Its just because I am leaving her to take Kaitlyn to the bus stop. I will either crate her inside or outside for the 5 min. I go to the bus. I'm still undecided. I'm so afraid crating her outside will confuse her.

Zoe goes in opposition of her alpha because she craves negative attention. I don't know why and I know no one on here can understand. I don't understand myself. I'm 26 yrs. old and I have never had less than 4 dogs in my house at once. I've never seen anything like her. I sometimes really believe she has almost the same mental capacity as a human. She really has mental issues and I wonder how long its going to be before she goes insane. She's a sick dog, mentally. Things change in her weekly. Sometimes for the worst and sometimes for the best. This week she has turned into a licker. She's always licked a lot but this week she won't stop. She's sitting outside right now licking the patio. When she comes in the house she licks herself, the floor, the furniture, me, the kids, she really doesn't stop. Her licking this week has been 24/7. Its worse than a nervous habit. When the routine in the house changes she can't deal with it.

I've never heard of that much licking. LOL I don't really know what to tell you. Have you tried puppy pads. You could lay them down and slowly move them closer to the back door each day and then on the last day put one outside and see if she uses the restroom on it. If she does try removing the puppy pad and see if she will still use the restroom outside.
wow .it sounds like you have youre hands full with her. i do believe that as with humans , there are dogs that are smarter than others. her problem sounds more like a mental issue than it does a phsyical one. maybe you could talk to an animal doctor that specializes in behavior. it might be something that can be easily remedied and get her back on track. good luck with her and hope things get better soon.
