Holy Cr*p!!!!!!!!! I bet they would have put a could stitches in there.  But if you don't mind have a wide scar. I wonder if a butterfly bandage would be of help.

I've had worse LOL, i'm known for getting my self hurt. The only time I have ever had stiches is when I cut my thumb off when I was 7 years old. Yes I have it now they re-attatched it.  My mother in law is a ER nurse and my mom used to be a paramecdic, if anything happens they will cathc it before it gets bad.

I tried a butterfly bandage and it didn't fit it wasn't long enough. I haven't looked for larger ones.  Do they make larger ones? The ones I have are small.

ButterFly's... You can Make out of medical Tape... just buy the larger tape and Cut the V... use a small touch Of NeoSpor. ... right over the area that will cover the wound itself ... so it will not stick and rip the scab.

( field trauma.. experience )

LOL Paige, I'm white as a ghost! I don't get out into the sun much. I'm not a big beach fan only time I go to the beach is to take the pups. But we are thinking about buy a jet ski so i'm sure i'll get a tan sooner or later but then again i'm famous for sitting in the car with the A\C on!

Thanks guys i'm sure i'll be alright. I promised hubby today that if it starts to look weird or funny that I would go see a doctor. He's still doing a lot cause he knows it's hard for me to get up and down. I have to be on my feet all day at work although I haven't been lately, my supervisor told me to take it easy.

I've been cleaning it several times a day along with putting Neosporn (sp) on it. I took off the bandage when I got home to let it scab up. It finally has but not all the way. Sadly enough the bruise's on my knee hurts more, the gash doesn't really hurt unless I move my leg as it has bruised the muscle as you can see. I'm walking a little better but still limping pretty bad I look like a gimp totaly.

I really don't scare that easy but i'm sure this will leave a little something. The way i'm looking at it right now is that there are people out there worse off then me, I should feel lucky!

OOWWWW! Girl....that looks sore! I agree with everone, keep an eye for infection, but other than that I guess you just ride it out. I think those bruises will be with ya for awhile!  Ouch.  I remember back in the day when I use to ride and hurting myself too! I introduced myself to a tree once!!  lol  I was lucky I didn't get hurt worse!

Hmm how about duct tape with gauze in the area of the cut.  Use the neosporin.  When me son had stitches, after they took them out they put on the butterfly bandage and said not to touch it until it came off on it own. Basically let it heal. I know duct tape sounds strange, just think, you won't have to shave that spot. LOL

I went out tonight and bought a bandage but the sticky kind that you can re-use and all the "goodies" as I have used everything I had.

It's healing pretty fast actually. Some of the small scratchs are healed and I you can see where it's starting to heal. The swelling is still there and the bruise is really dark black is a lot of places, it still hurts when I put pressuer on it and when I walk if I put all my weight on it.

Did you learn anything from this. For me, it would be stick to the smaller one, for you it may be do something just a tad different next time. LOL Glad you are healing up. Sometimes its the bruises that look the nastiest.

OWWWWwwwoooo. Looks painful.
Is it feeling better today? I wished I had read this earlier[was too tired]. I would suggest iodine on something likely to infect, like that. Aloe later, definately, or neo-sporin, it may scar...

It's feeling pretty good today, it hurts the most right after I get off work and when I get up in the morning. My hubby looked at it today and was suprized at how fast it is healing. There is a lot of fresh pink skin which is good. I think it's going to heal a lot faster than I thought!

I learned to stick to a smaller bike til i'm a little better! I can't handle the power of a 250. I will eventualy get back on a 250 as I want to ride one. I like the power and the low end of it. It's more responseave (sp) and it takes less work to get fast unlike a 125 when you have to work at it. The 250 just have the power a 125 wished it had! LOL

Oh my gosh Stormy! I just found this thread! That's a horrible bruise you got there! I'm glad it's healing pretty well. I hope you feel well soon.

I looked a bit like that when were riding ATV's on the sanddunes in Cabos one time. I was just a teen, and went over a hill that had a huge dropoff on the other side. I wasn't aware, and when the ATV landed, it made me bounce so high that I flew over the ATV and then the stupid thing ran me over. Wasn't very fun spending the rest of our vacation looking like someone beat the crap out of me. And the bruise on my leg healed, but left this weird welt under the skin for like a year after. Fun times, lol.
