weird gross thing happened

Ok well something kind of weird and gross happened with Hope and I'll try to describe it without getting to graphic.

Anyways I took her in the yard to pee, so she peed and was walking to another part of the yard when i noticed this long thing hanging from "where she pees" looked like a looong worm hanging out but it wasnt out of her bottom, and then it fell off and i scooped it up and threw it out. It wasnt a worm just looked like one the way it was hanging, it was like mucosy(sp). Anyone ever seen this before?

Im gonna ask about it at work today but i was just curious as to what this is. I hope she doesnt have a serious problem.

Im guessing it could be just discharge like we can get before periods *blush*

and i have also Just looked at a canine health website and there is a condition called junior vaginitis which occurs in females under a year old and they don't know the cause.

Im not sure how old hope is but if shes a pup it could be thrush passed on from the mother ..

Your best bet is to just get her looked over

Possible infection. Is she spayed?

the best bet would be to have your vet check her out. that way you will know for sure what it is and wether it needs to be treated. catching things early is the best way to a speedy recovery. hopefully its nothing too serious.

Thanks everyone! She has an appointment for a full exam tomorow at 10am so I will let you all know what it turns out to be.Oh and we dont know if she is spayed but im sure we will know tomorow!

Good news is that her long term foster home is taking her tomorow, so she will finally have a place to call her own for a while till she is 100% better. I'll be sad to see her go, she gets so excited to see me, it will be hard to leave her but at least I know she is going to a great place that will take great care of her!
