We finally found out what was wrong with my dad. YAY!!! He went into surgery last night at around 7 and by 8 the doctor was done. In my dads middle small intestine part of it had died and was releasing toxins into his system...which was causing all the other problems. So the doctor removed a large amount of intestine. He said that you would have never found the problem without doing surgery. More and likely it was caused my a blunt force to his abdomen. And we know a cow walked all over him 4 months or so ago. He was put in ICU because his blood is so thin but his vitals are good. So now we just have a long road of recovery. His doctor told us last night that if he wouldn't have been put into the hospital he would have died. So we consider him very lucky.
Paige....as bad as this may sound.....that is wonderful news. No Hepatitis.....no cancer......I am SO glad. I have thought about you a lot. I just felt for you when reading your posts. I could see the fear and pain in what you were writing. This is such good news. I wish him the speediest of recoveries. He has a wonderful daughter that will be by his side, no doubt.
I am thrilled that this is all that was wrong with him. It is something he can make a full recovery from but it will be a long recovery. The doctor says hopefully by the beginning of next year he will be back to normal. But he was never normal. LOL!! But so far they have taken him off the breathing machine and he is alert when he is not doped up. He was also complaining because he was thristy but he still can't have nothing to drink yet. Hopefully by this evening or tomorrow they will give him some ice water. I could have kissed that surgen when he came and said that he found and fixed the problem. I plan on going up there whenever Brad gets home from school. He is also very weak. I think he has lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks and most of it was muscle. I need to go on his diet. LOL!!
great news paige ! i'm sure it is a big weight off your shoulders now that you know what it was and that it is fixed. i will keep him in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
Oh my goodness, That was a miracle they found that. My friend had to have that done twice. She has been cursed with many illnesses, Cromes (crones) disease, Not sure how to spell it. She has gone thru h*ll and back. Your dad should be just fine after. Probably digest his food alot faster, may using the restroom somewhat more. But Boy Paige this is much greater news.
Hmm, to make this dog related, I wonder if this is like the twisted stomach thing dogs get, where their stomach dies if not caught in time.
I am very happy for you father, he surely has been thru alot.
Da** them cows... Glad you found the problem. Make that the last update...in this series, because we will want to hear good news in the future. I hope he recovers fast.
