No more migraines.

I think I found what was causing my migraines.  I got my results back from my MRI and everything looked normal.  They had me switch my birth control.  I was using the patch.  I am on the pill now and so far I haven't had any headaches.  I hate trying to remember to take this silly pill everyday and I really miss the patch but I am greatly enjoying life now without the darn headaches every week.  Keep your fingers crossed that they stay away and it was, in fact, the bc.

Eeuww. Just think what it musta been doing to your body to make a reaction like that. Those things are like insecticide
I have had headaches this week from the teeth grinding and sore jaw and facial muscles...I'm all ready for that to stop now, thank-you. I got a taste of what migraine sufferers must endure. It sucked, big time...

I never go to the doctor but I finally gave in and went for this.  My doctor sent me for the MRI and when nothing came back wrong he started thinking.  He said migraines usually don't start later in life.  If you're going to have them they usually start when you're a child.  He said this isn't always the case but usually it is.  He knew that I had been having them since Gillian was born so that's how he narrowed it to the bc.  I would have never thought of that on my own.  And yeah, it does make me wonder what else it was doing to my body.

Isn't it called Ortho...something. Ortho makes all those grass and bug killers[well, sorry, they prolly aren't related, but the word makes you suspicious]. The commercials talk about all these side effects. I wonder if they mention migraine...
Good your doctor figured that out. A shame he did not brainstorm before all those tests[$$$?]...

I think he really thought something was medically wrong.  Johnson and Johnson make the ortho bc products.  I don't think Johnson and Johnson make the bug killers.  I will have to ask DJ.  He did work for J&J for years.  The patch is called ortho evra.  I have done a lot of research on it since he took me off of it and 3 people have died from anuerysms (SP?)  I am glad I had the test done to know that it didn't do anything like that to me.

I will never use the patch. There have been more than 3 women die on it. I am on the pill and I take Yasmin. Its the only pill I can take without getting sick.

I can relate to the migraines!!  I have had them for years. Just kills me when someone sits in front of me and says "Man, I have such a migraine!"   Yeah, whatever.....how about you can't keep your eyes open or look at light, feel like puking, have to sleep it off.....etc...    "You have a headache!!!" lol

I am glad you found out sooner than later what the issue was. Believe it or not, most of my migraines come from cats or other things I am allergic to (like pine).  I get so sick from them. Not all cats though....

MPP I feel the same way.  If you can sit up straight and keep your eyes open you do not have a migraine.  I hope I never have another one.  I dealt with them for 2 years and it was a horrible 2 years.

I used to get migraines when I was younger. They were so bad I would miss a few days of school. I remember seeing spots and light and movement always made me throw up. Lucky for me they went away when I was pregnant. But it does bother me when people are at the mall and complain of a migraine. They wouldn't be shopping if they had one.

Paige I had the spots in front of my eye also.  They were always in my left eye and would slowly move away.  As the spots disappeared that is when the headache would come on.

Spots suck!! I remember having to go to the doctors to get a shot everytime I had a headache. It was always so hard for me to make the 20 mintue drive in the backseat of my moms car with a blanket covering me. I consider myself very lucky to not have them anymore.

What sucked for me with the headaches is that I still had to force myself to function.  I stay at home with the kids and the dogs.  I don't have anyone around me to come and help me with them.  The dogs were no big deal as long as they had water.  Kaitlyn wasn't really hard either.  It was Gillian that was hard.  Not so much the last 6 months or so but the first year and a half trying to take care of her with a migraine was like being in h*ll.  I would pretty much have one every week and it would start first thing in the morning.  The next day I would still have a headache but it would be bearable.  I learned that if as soon as I saw the spots I took 2 sudafeds and 3 motrin migraines it would ease the headache enough to where I wouldn't be sick to my stomach.  Thats not saying much but it did help a little.

I know a migraine is coming on once those spots start. Then it is all down hill!!

I agree, you can't be shopping with a true migraine!!
