how do you all deal with them? i have always been taught to turn the other cheek, but sometimes thats harder to do than it says. today i went to pick my daughter up from school. the buses all started coming through and i had no place to turn around so i was just gonna go just inside the fence long enough to turn around.( i was driving a large 4x4 truck) and the bus director came running over screaming and pointing to the large sign that said "buses only". i explained that i wasnt a moron and i also can read, but i needed to turn around and it was the only place that i could do it safely in. he said well "beings you cant read, you can sit there and wait until every bus leaves". i sat there for over a half hour. getting madder by the minute as my daughter was waiting to be picked up. so as i was leaving i very politely told him "it was nice meeting you . i have never met a 6 foot a**hole". gggrrrr some people !!
Rude people. Try working in an Arabic bar [owned by Lebanese Armenians] and having a Persian lover for 25 years....You have NEVER seen rude, trust me...
Did you really call him a 6 foot a**hole, ROFL thats funny.
There is one thing that irritates me. For some reason there are plenty of older asian and croatian women that don't have a problem with pushing past people brushing up against you. Granted they are older, but it is very rude in my book to do that. Its like saying they are better and can do whatever they want. I generally say, exccuuuuuusssseeee mmmeeeeeeee. Very sarcastically.
Take it from me, a School Bus Driver for Special needs! ALL BUS drivers take there job VERY seriously and when they catch a "parent" in there "space" they always try to make that parent wish they never got into there "AREA OF BUSES ONLY!" Some drivers are more aggressive then others but the main reason they have that designated area is because most kids get killed getting on or off buses, rather then in the bus! The most dangerous time for kids is the loading and unloading! Dont take offence because the Bus Drivers feel like they are trying to help prevent an accident! And also buses usually have a certain "Choreography" and if someone disrupts it some bus drivers go totally nuts! Even with fellow drivers! Ive taken a few heated warnings at new schools, where I didnt know the routine! It varies school by school the set-ups. But as a bus driver I know, they can get down right rude, and also perform scary and rude things to parents vehicles!. That is suposed to teach the "parent" and eliminate the civilian vehicle from "invading there territory!" They like to do that and its like a huge "power trip" to SOME drivers! On there behalf, I say sorry! But Block um in, is a term used regularly, as well as "box um in!" Dont worry about it! Part power trip, and part looking out for the loading and unloading of kids! Thats where the accidents happen! Its kind of a stressful job Dusty, and some drivers are just looking for a way to vent there frustrations, while other drivers are really concerened about the kids arounds safety! Good topic though, Im glad you brought it up!
yeah i realize about the busses. the problem is the set up they have is messed up. they only have two ways into the school. both are accessable for cars too. so when you pull in , you go down and the road has a left turn into the school parking lot and goes straight into the buss lot. they have people directing the busses that are supposed to stop you at the main road when the busses are leaving. no one was there so several cars came in. the guy in front of me was able to turn around, he was driving a vw. i had a large truck and i couldnt turn around like he did.i just needed to go inside the fence to turn around. there were no buses in there. they had already pulled up and were lined up on the other side. everyone else was able to turn and veer into the school lot. i could have too, had he let me turn around too. he was just being a jerk. and he should have made sure that someone was at the road stopping people from entering.it would have avoided the whole mess.
I see what you mean! Some schools dont have clear signs, and all schools have a different set-up, so its sometimes hard to say! I would say on Monday call the Principle, or the Bus co and request more clear signage. Its hard to know at times with some schools, and I know who sometimes bus drivers are pretty rude! But I will tell you that the more people complain about bus drivers actions the more they will try to fix it! If they realize the problum is not enough, or not clear enough signs, then they will try to fix it! Call the Principle on Monday and tell him what happened! The more parents complaing about it the better! Good luck and give me an update! I would love to see what happens with it!
i am going too. my daughter was waiting on the other side. she said that happens alot. once you pull in you are stuck if the busses are lining the road and blocking the entry into the school parking lot.theres no place to go except ahead into the bus lot.unless you have a very small car you can turn around in. i'm sure others have complained. one day she said a van and another truck were stuck there too. he was just being a jerk by his cant read remark and making me wait there. the busses hadnt left yet so i could have got back out safely. i was soo mad that if i had of known which vehicle was his i might have been tempted to accidently drive over it on my way out ! j/k lol
You just make sure you call the School Principle about all of the things you have witnessed! Guarenteed they will be fixed soon! You tell them you talked to a bus driver as well, and that bus driver thinks there is serious room for improvement! Most schools are gravitating towards a one Bus Parking lot entrance, as well as one parent entrance! It all probably depends on that schools budget, as well as organization! Keep me updated as what happens Dusty!
I know at the school I went to there was a place for just the school buses. It was behind the school and no one was allowed back there with their cars.
well i talked to the school this morning. seems like i am not the only one with a problem. they have recieved several complaints. they had thought with the new high school opening up this year that it would lighten the load on the busses. the biggest problem they are having is having to share the two entrances with students, staff and parents. that is why they have three people to help direct the traffic and busses. the guy that was so rude to me wasnt where he was supposed to be !! he was supposed to be at the main road diverting traffic, instead all three bus monitors were gathered under the sign b.s.'ing. she said he had no business treating me like that and if he had been doing his job in the first place, i wouldnt have been in the predicament i was. i felt better after i talked to the school. at least i know that it wasnt anything i did wrong. i,m sure he will be getting a butt chewing, i only wish i could be there to watch.
even noticed when your walking in a store or someplace with a lot of people how most people walking toword you expect you to step aside and make room? Why is it no one else is willing to walk around you? That kinda bugs me and if you simply keep walking straight they thing you are the one who is rude and would rather run smack into you then to simple step aside once in a while.
