There is a house right around the corner from us that we love. We have lived here in this house for 5 yrs but we've always said if that house goes on the market we want to go see it. Friday afternoon as I was driving by I saw the realtor put a for sale sign in the yard. I immediately called a realtor we know and she got us a showing for Saturday night. We went and saw the house and fell in love. We are not gaining anymore room (but we definitely don't need more room anyway) we are only gaining more land. We didn't put in a bid right away because we can't decide if the land is worth 150,000 dollars or not. Its not that much land we just really, really love this house. Anyway, today we are going to go in with a really low bid and see what happens. We're knocking 40,000 off of asking price. I'm not going to push my husband one way or the other but I really, really want this house. Keep your fingers crossed. I don't see us getting it because I don't see DJ wanting to go through the motions enough to fight for it but you never know. We would have to put this house on the market and sell it and blah, blah, blah. You get the idea. It seems like a headache but I want this house bad enough to do it, I just don't know if he does.

if its meant to be, then you will get it. i know how it is when you have your heart set on something. i was a nervous , pacing , wreck waiting to see if we got this place. good luck and i hope that you get your house !!
Wow, I am not sure where you live but if it has a decent amount of space I would say jump on it for that price. I live in a small town and places are going over $100,000 some even just 2 bedroom houses, and seriousely this is not the best market around. My husband is a real estate broker and when I asked what would happen around here if someone bid that far below a house around here, he said it would be declined right away. I am anxious to see if you get it. More then likely they will counter your offer with a higher price. I really am curious........keep us updated.
Here in California, you could not get a one room house in a gangster neighborhood, for that...property is real high, here. Check the roof, foundation, drainage and all the plumbing...
No, the house is WAY more than 150,000 but that is how much more the house costs than the one we live in now. Sorry if I didn't state that clear enough. You couldn't buy a closet here for 150,000. 4 bedroom houses here are at least 450,000.
The one I live in now is 6 bedrooms and 7 and 2 half baths. The one we are wanting is exactly the same size as the one we are in now. We just love the house and it has more land.

I wish I could get a house like that here. That last house you posted is gorgeous. The houses like that in my area go for almost 2 million. The first house you posted would probably be around 600,000.

I love old houses. I think this part of Texas has the lowest real estate ever. We have our homes here that sell for close to a million but somewhere else they would be like 5 million. We will probably never move from here. There is one house in town that I absolutely love. But it is 755 thousand......here it is. It located in the country club area. It has almost 6 thousand square foot and it was built in '46.
Maybe I should move to Texas. My house is really big. Its around 12,000 square feet I think. We bought our house 5 years ago and we paid 950,000 but it was a fixer-upper. Five years later my house is now worth over 3 million. The house we are wanting to buy, they are asking 150,000 dollars more than our house is worth for just a little bit of land.

Yeah, y'all need to move to Texas. LOL!!!! I love going to open houses around here. I can't wait until me and Brad decide to move again. The market here is full of hundred year old homes.
DJ is 6 yrs. older than me. Before we got married he had already started his company but to get his name out he was traveling a lot and he lived in Houston for a while and he hated it. He said he would never go back to Texas. He's never said why he hated it. I'm from TN and he hates it there too. I think its more that both places are just so different from the Northeast and he just can't get used to it. Maybe I can tell him how much cheaper we could get our house for there and he'll change his mind.

I don't even like Houston. The place is too humid. I live in North Texas in a small city. Not too crowded but not too dead. Houston is one of the more dirty places to live too. The Dallas/Fort Worth area is nice though but I think every place has its cons.
i have no clue how much houses around here go for...but then again im not going to be ready to buy my own home for years yet! anyways, i hope you get the house that you're wanting, and for a reasonable price! good luck!
