Ever since Bacon got neutered a month and a half ago he started peeing on either his belly or his front leg every single time he goes to the bathroom. It is pretty disgusting. I have to wipe him off with a wet rag everytime we come in or else he smells like pee the rest of the day. I cant figure out how to break him of it. He doesnt pay attention when he goes he either stands regular and goes all over his belly or he lifts his leg half way up and pees all over his front leg. I either want him to start squatting or at least lift his leg and pee on something like a tree. But I think he is confused about the whole potty thing because he lifts his back leg when he poops. That part is quite amusing because he cant balance himself so he kind of walks in a circle while he goes. I dont know how to break these habits of his, any ideas??? has anyone else had a dog that did this?? Thanks in advance! :)
I never really had a problem quite like yours, although the pooping with the leg up made me laugh! lol I did have a problem with Koda, anytime Kenai would pee on anything Koda was right there too, well, Kenai was a 5 pound pom, Koda is a 85 pound golden retriever/chow mix (i.e. a little bit bigger) Well, Koda always stood right over Kenai and ALWAYS peed on Kenai, he would come in covered in pee. It was soooo gross. His head, his back, you name, he got covered. We finally couldn't leave the two alone together until after they each marked everything! lol
