what a crap Day!!! I was Hit by a car today.. matter of fact about an hour ago!!! in the parking lot of SAMS... by a Foreign Diplomatic... !! ( red, white and blue tags) No speak the English!! on private property... cops can't do anything... blah blah blah!!!
knocked my basket across the parking Lot... Knocked me ... I re-Twisted my back!!! dang it hurts!! and I have a big old bruise on my leg/hip.... OMG!!! wtf...
She backed right into me... while I was returning to my car ( her car was already badly damaged too!)
That is considered bodly hard and carelssness, I would have called the cops and had them send a ambulace, if I knew I was hurt. Car vs human I believe is different than car vs car on private property.
I'm glad that you were not badly hurt, but it sucks to have back pain. I live with it everyday so I feel your pain with you! Speed recovery!
Did you exchange any info. More than likely you will feel worse tommorrow. I hope not but you may. And I doubt the private property thing matters. You should have called or got their info or something, a witness's number. Hope you are ok, and you don't end up with ongoing back pain, been there too.
Look both ways before crossing the errr, parking lot? You poor thing. That is embarassing, too. I work with a lot of foreigners. I don't dig that diplomatic immunity crap when people do illegal things. Moreover, I would not just take someone's word for it. I would definately have made the cops either take a report, or you take the cops names as witnesses, should something come of it...
Unfortunately… I have had first had experience with .. Diplomats , private property and a car… before .
Family member was hit by one of these “Tags” and after a lot of legal cost and time… the “tags” lawyer turned and tried to sue… it was crazy …
anyway nothing came of the end result except 20k in legal fees (combined)… between trying to collect for the initial injury AND the counter suit … Plus add the medical costs .
On top of that this person did not have Insurance…. But had the Uninsured motor vehicles fee paid receipt…. So the cop explained all the wonderful details about taking this matter to Civil court… that I would have to hire a lawyer for… and that would take like how long??

So here I am... shaking my head… and squirming around trying to get comfy ...
i dont buy into that diplomat crap ! if your in this country, you are subject to the same rules as we have to live by. i dont care what country or planet you came from. i hope that you dont have any problems later on and i hope you are okay.
Dusty... I don't buy it either... but they GET AWAY with everything! .... In Arlington where I grew up ... One hit a little girl... put her in the hospital for a month, and Zipo... nothing happened to them.... because they had Dip. immunity .!! IS that not a load of Poo!

LOL sorry to laugh but I can see it now. Someone walking threw a parking lot stopping before every parked car to see if it's going to move or if there is somone in it. It's going to take you forever to get in the store and forever to get to your car. Don't buy any ice cream!
