These people need prayers or at least as many hopeful wishes as they can get. If this storm hits as predicted, it is said that it could be worse than Katrina. I don't know what is going to happen to all those people but hopefully they are not going to stick around and find out, Hopefully more will leave then they did with Katrina and hopefully we will get resources then we had for Katrina for the people who cannot get out on their own. Hopefully animals will get helped better too. (This is coming from less then an hour old update).......... If it moving in the direction it is heading right now we will get tons of rain here. And I live in North Texas. I have family that live in Port Lavaca and they are heading north. They said that the surounding areas are already out of gas too. I will never live near the ocean.
just want to add that if any of you live , or know someone that lives in the oncoming path of rita, and needs a place to go, i have an extra bedroom and will help anyone in need. pets too. they said on the news that rita is at 5 , which is the worst and is expected to hit the galveston and outlying areas. they will probably have mandatory evacuations. i know we live far away, but i will help put a family up for as long as they need.
so of the people at my work were saying we my have to open our warehouse for all the empolyee come up here that don't have any were to go.
the city mayors are telling the people in houston to go to lufkin, and the ones in corpus to go west, as the storm will be heading towards dallas area, and to go west or east away from the path. at least that what one of my coworkers in houston was saying.
It's so horrible!! I feel so bad for all those people on the coast!! I know that my one uncle and his wife and kids live in Houston, my other uncle and his wife live in Galveston!! My grandma told me that she told them they could all stay with me until it's safe, since I've got a huge house and no one else living here but me and the kids. I told her, maybe the one uncle and wife and kids, but not the other one, I don't know him or his wife well enough. I haven't seen the one with kids in over 5 years, so whatever it takes, I guess. I hope they'll be able to get somewhere safe, if they don't want to come all the way up to northern Iowa to do it.
I live in Wichita Falls and we are expecting a crap load of rain. It can flood pretty easy in some parts here. The weather man said we could possibly get 12 to 18 inches of rain. I'm glad I'm on a hill.
We had a bunch of damage here tonite! Tornados, straight line winds of 80 miles an hour! It was unreal! Windows blown out of vehicles, and homes. Sever hail damage, and also many large trees down around here! Roads are mostly impassible in Fridley: That is my neighboring city. Also lots of down power lines, and gas lines. Also street flooding. I live in Coon Rapids Minnesota, and it was crazy. It made me appreciate what the hurricane victims will have and have had. Its crazy here now! Good for you Dusty also to help all you can! Is it the end of the world or what? Wheather seems nuts lately! And also my basements all wet! Mopping with bleach is my agenda for the next couple of days. I am lucky though as a neighbor across the street had an entire GIANT tree fell on there house. I want to look around, but the news is saying to stay home.. I cant imagine a horrible hurricane like that... I hope everyone will be ok, and take evacuation notices SERIOUSLY~!
whats so very sad is that people havent even begun to recover from katrina. and now another one that is projected to be even worse is on the way. here is a place where you can place an ad if you are able to take in any families. my ad is under washington state. there are still so many displaced from katrina. and now rita will be just another devastating blow.
