Here is Sams Petfinder page! He is so cute! The Pet Haven coordinater asked me to write down some basic facts on Sam, and that is what I typed! They used it all. I was surprised because as everyone knows Im not that great at expressing myself on the computer! But take a look, he is so darn cute!!! Im so proud!
I put it in another post but I asked is that how much all animals are at that shelter? I honestly am suprised. Our shelters range from $50-$75 only once did I see one for $100 and that was a purebred English Bulldog Puppy.(And that covers, spay/neuter, shots, microchip, puppy kit and free vet check) Also, don't you think that the distance issue is going to be a problem? We would have alot of animals not adopted if we restricted the distance to a certain amount. He is very cute!
I put this on another post but I will be honest. SAM is worth every penny! He has had alot of vet work, and socialization skills, and some training as well! distance would be taken in a case by case basis! They do make acceptions. We are a great organization, and care way more then some "shelter" that you pick up a pup for $50.00. At least around here. Thats how all places are around here, maybe we are pricey, but you dont know how many things the Pet had wrong with them, prior to addoption. Im very sure, that we are a extaordinary group. If you have issues with our prices, I hope you think about these dogs like Sam that has only been to a vet 2 times, probably in his whole life! He will still require another vet visit to get stitches from his neuter, removed. And also he will require another Mange Dip in a couple days. Add it up. Sam would have been PTS on Sept. the 14. End of story! To me he would be well worth the dough! It really isnt that much anyways! Shop around for Pits with the vet care, training, socialization, and love that Sam has gotten. You couldnt touch that price. ~thats my opinion!
Thanks Pd! I was just about to email you! I think Sam is a doll, and full of character thats forsure! If only you all could have seen him when he was acting like he had never seen a stranger, or the outside for that matter. I picked up on that while I had at my house for a couple days. His foster, my neighbor said the same thing that I had ONLY THOUGHT, and not said! Taking a walk on a leash- well Sam had never even dreamed of anything like that. He has had some super care, and I am so proud. Some may say expensive, I say worth every cent! He is a keeper for someone!
i love him ! and i think he is beautiful too !. i also live in washington state. our tacoma shelter has adoption fees similar to yours, so i think the fee is reasonable. i am sure he will find a home. he is a cutie.

I did not mean anything by saying that about his price, it just suprised me, thats all. "We are a great organization, and care way more then some "shelter" that you pick up a pup for $50.00" That was kind of uncalled for. My shelter cares alot for their animals, we just recently adopted out a dog that was there for over a year. Price does not mean that you care more for a dog. I never said Sam wasn't worth that much, I only meant that it seems like that would hinder an adoption, thats all. I guess I should just consider myself lucky that if I want a shelter pup again, I live in an area where it is affordable. We also have training and socialization techniques given at my shelter. I know you like this dog but there is no reason to get so defensive about what I said. I was merely making a comparison. That's all.
