I have an account at myspace.com...for those that dont know about it, its a place whereyou can make your own page, all about yourself and you can email and chat with friends or you can make new friends. Anyway I was just checking my messages at myspace and i got this really weird email, I wanted to share it with all of you and see what you think. It sounds like a scam to me.

am kindly writing this pathetic message to you with honour and respect to you.i delibrately try to reach to you after a much and thorough viewing about you through your fascinated profile and i know you are such a person i can confide in, trust and share my present story with.let me start by introducing myself; I am samantha -anderson,i reside in albany mississipi,i live with my mum and two kid sister,it hurt and cause a mental pain to see my state once habitable and peaceful turn into a scene of havoc and a total destruction ,properties worth millions of dollars destroyed,soul lost and rendering millions of lovely people homeless and displaced,i must say i really felt sad and unhappy on how the horrible katrina devastated so many in my state.and the most painful part of it is that i was not around when the disaster occur,am in africa then,cos i am schooling and doing my master degree study in creative art,and i have been trying every means to make sure i get in touched with my family and friends but all to know avail,it really ached,as i am writting this pathetic message to you presently,i cannot hide letting you know that tears are dropping down my eyes,cosi dont know the present situation my people are right away.the major reason i am using this influence to reach to you is that i willl like to ask for your help cos i need to travel back to mississipi and i am afraid i have little dough at hand and i will need to get the money for the return ticket,i must say i never expect to find my self in this such a mess situation ,kindly come to my aid i need to get out of this place to know the present situation.pls i promise every help you might offer me am gonna pay you back as soon as i reach back to usa.thanks for understanding and i wish we can get to know much better than this.

Doesn't sound on the up & up to me.  If she is in school getting her master's I would think her command of the English language (spelling & grammar) would be better.

I would just ignore it.  There is definitely something funny about that.  There is no way that she can be getting a masters degree, regardless of the degree, with her grammar so bad.  She would have never passed her basic comp classes that everyone needs for any degree.

Besides what everyone else said, Alot of thosescams about being an heiress and needing to transfer moneys to U.S and needing trusted person, stuff like that they come from Africa.  I have heard of people following thru with them and having to go to Africa and being killed. If you want to write note back, tell her what you think. I think the whole message is fishy.  She probably has family that is paying for her college. Very fishy.


Did you take a look at her profile, No friends except for the crreator of the site. Most people interested in myspace file out more than what she put on her profile. She did not even put Africa as her place of living right now.


I have a myspace Syd. wanner be buds?  LOL I won't ask for money................

I got an e-mail recently saying that my uncle in some country I have never heard of had passed away and left a large fortune to us! lol I have no uncles in whatever country that was and NONE of my uncles have any type of fortune! lol They wanted all my info etc..... lol it was a complete scam.......I just deleted it.

Oh god these scams are soo stupid ~im always getting some 'relative' from Africa one whos inherited mega money and has chosen ME out of all the millions of other people in the world as the most trustworthy and honest person to help him obtain his millions ..they are completely laughable but sadlly people fall for them..


Your right puttin alot of these scams sadly come from NIgeria and Africa. scams make my blood boil

and like puttin said some of these people lose their lives to these scammers ..
