Last week I went into SuperPetz with Tiki so she could get her nails trimmed and saw that they were hiring. I talked to the groomer (first time ever talking to her) and she said that they were looking for an assistant manager and that I would be great for the job. I picked up an application and on Wednesday I took Lola in with me when I turned it in so SHE could get her nails trimmed too. While Lola was getting trimmed the store director looked over the application and told me to come in on Thursday for an interview. Now I haven't done a formal interview since high school and was slightly nervous. I went in on Thursday and it didn't really feel like an interview, it felt more like he knew he was going to give me the job and was just telling me the jist of things. He really didn't as me any questions other than about punctuality and if i'd be able to come in if it was snowing.
After the interview he told me he had to talk to his district manager and if the d.m. didn't require to meet me then he would offer me the job. Well....yesterday (Friday) at 10 in the morning Terry (the store director/manager) called and offered me the position!!!
forty hours a week, benefits, about $10 an hour, 401K, life insurance, AND it's close to home! WOO HOOO!!! I start Monday at 8 and am slightly nervouse, but hey, gotta just get back on that employment line and save some money for the kids we'll have someday.
Well I was thinking for some stupid reason you were fired from another job. Congratulations, that all sounds great........... Can you bring your babys to work?
They do actually have a groomer in the shop and a vet clinic, but I will probably wait until after I have been there for a while before approaching the subject of bringing Tiki or Lola with me.
I'm really nervous about going because neither Lola or Tiki have really been without me for any period of time. I mean I've been gone for 8 hours before with the hubby running errands on the weekends and what not but nothing like what this will be.
I should get a discount, but will probably find out for sure on monday.
Puttin: no, wasn't me that was fired, last job was substitute teaching while I was still in Kansas, we left there at the end of Feb.
I do have a neighbor that offered to take Tiki during the day if she can't handle me being gone or anything.
I schedule around myself feedings and such. I give the dogs exercise and feed a small amount [they always have water] before I go for a long day, then I let them out and feed the main meal when I get back [this is my 10 hours away, at an an event, schedule, not my daily...}
