My friend dropped off her baby with me this AM and said "Did you hear what happened to Matt's car?" (her husband Derrick and Matt are best friends, and work together, so they both discovered it) She said they stole his stereo and speakers out of his car, which he got put in about 8 months ago, and it costs around $200, this flying disk toy he just got, and they stole hundreds of dollars worth of CD's. They also broke into his bosses truck(he drives it to work, his car is old) and emptied the glove compartment. He left his bosses truck unlocked, but his car was locked so they broke out a small side window. I feel awful for him, why do people do this?? Don't they know it hurts people?? It could have been these freaky gothic people who lurk around the apartment complex. Matt and Derrick's friend Brandon's car was broken into as well...Christa thinks Brandon broke into Matt's vehicles...Who knows. He and his wife do pills so, I wouldn't be suprised.
He is pissed about it, but he's glad he's safe and they didn't get into his apartment. He has thousands or dollars worth of music equipment, a computer, etc in there...they'd have a hay day. Christa is at home 4 days out of the week, so she can watch for any suspicious activity.
happy anniversary !! its sad you work so hard for things, only to have them takin away like that. we used to live in a neighborhood where things were always dissapearing. thankfully where we are now there isnt a problem. theres only one road back in here , and the neighbors all watch each others stuff pretty close. sorry to hear about matts and his bosses losses. hope you dont let it put a damper on your special day !
Next time he calls, I need to tell him to file a report with police. Insurnace may help pay for the stereo, it's worth a try. What's the point of having insurance? That's why you pay for it, to be insured...He probably won't file it but Christa said if no one does, she will call tomorrow and let them know it happened and can maybe set up a date for them to come and see the cars. He will probably say he won't and get huffy with me...ha...I know I'm right this time, if he doesn't listen to me, my mom will just have a little talk with him :)
Do you think he'll have to have a receipt of his stereo and stuff? I think his name may still be in an account at circuit city, maybe they have proof he got the stereo and paid for it.
