Wonderful night gone WRONG!!

Ever had one of those moments in your life where you are around complete strangers and you can tell what they are thinking??  I just had one.

I haven't had a wedding ring for about 3 years now.  Long story on what happened....but I just haven't had one.  I never wear jewelry anyway so it really wasn't a big deal to me.  Well....recently, ole Barney boy has been wanting to get me one.  I told him I'd rather get my hair/nails done and give in to my lipstick/shoe obsession a little.  He said fine.  He was cool with that.

Tonight we were gonna go shopping, but my youngest got a horrible staph infection....it just came up within hours.....these huge 'boil' looking knots on his legs.......so we had to alter our plans to make a trip to the ER (the clinics were wither already closed of full till MOnday).

My and my little one (he is 4) are dropped off at the ER while hubby takes my oldest to get a hair cut.  About an hour later they come back.  There are several people in the waiting room.....you know how they are.  Hubby sits down beside me......our little one is on the other side of me....and my oldest squats in the front of me.  We are just having small talk........and waiting rooms are quiet as it is.

All of a sudden I look over and JT has this beautiful set of wedding rings.....all in their pretty blue box with the flip lid......opened up and holding them at me.  Of course the ENTIRE waiting room notices this and I'm sure they are thinking "wtf? he is proposing in a waiting room???".

I am so happy.,.....but so embarrassed.  I discreetly tell him that we are in the waiting room of the ER, snatch the ring and shove it in my purse.......he is still so happy about getting me the ring that he is getting a little teary eyed......

Now the people must be thinking "that ****! she took the ring, crammed it in her purse instead of putting it on her finger and how the poor guy is crying......HOW could she be so mean?"

After a small conversation with him......trying to let him know I was thankful and happy.......but it just wasn't the right environment......I finally took the ring out and looked at it.......trying to hide it so the waiting room ppl wouldn't know what I was doing.

They had no idea we have been married for 5 years......lol.......so to them it looked like he was proposing in the waiting room.........how romantic? And then they thought I shot him down!!!

OMG!  It was just a wonderful night gone WRONG!......lol.....I just had to tell ya'll.

The ring is beautiful though.....lol.....but what  a way to get it....I dont know whether to laugh or cry....lol

That is GREAT! You should be thrilled! What a way to perk up your spirits huh? Congrats, even if you have been married for 5 years! :)

Is that just the sweetest thing. You are a lucky women.  Does anyone in your family call him Barney. My husbands old friends call him Barney.

Awwwwwww! That's cute Ansy! It's funny, I want to say, "Eh, you'll never see those people again anyway" but when people say that to me when something wonky happens in public...yeah..totally doesn't make me feel better, lol. Sounds like you have a real sweet hubby

One thing though is at least they didn't make comments. When I was preggo I couldn't wear my ring because my fingers swelled, and I would actually have strangers start talking to me about my 'due date' and whatnot and then throw in there, "So, you're going to get married right?" or "Why aren't you married?". Just to peeve them off (even though I already was married) I would say, "Eh...we're going to wait until the kid is born and have them be the ring barrer (or in the case of my daughter the flower girl)" or I would say things like, "Oh. I don't know who the father is. It could be HUNDREDS of guys" PEEVED them off, hehe

He's a keeper, Ansy.
He is a keeper!
Hi, Barney.... right on, dude!

I had that staph stuff on my face, and that is no man's party, I'm telling you...
I think I got rid of it mostly accidentally, with antibiotics for acute bronchitus...It was about 2 years of different antibiotics, followed up consistantly with acidophilus strains...
Horrifiying. I got an insight into the acne challenged crowd.

Very sweet gesture on his part....I know sometimes it's hard to accept things in the spirit in which they are given.  Us girls just plan everything out in our heads, so when it doesn't go according to script....

Give ole Barney a big hug and smoocher!!!  We appreciate the good guys

That's a great moment that you will forever keep in the scrapbook memory zone of your heart.  What better way to surprise you than present the rings to you in the last place on earth you would expect it to happen!  Way to go JT!
