My nephew little buddy

This little rat is a sweet thing.  I was holding her rubbing her head and she just layed there just like a dog would.  If only I could catch that darn mouse.  I thought it left, but today it jumped when i opened a drawer. Scared the you know what out of me. LOL Yes I screamed...

Maybe that one is sweet.  I just could never imagine holding a rat.  I had a hamster when I was small and I know they're basically the same thing, but still.  It is cute though.  I just don't want to touch it.

SHE is a sweet GIRL.  I trust rats more than hampsters.  Her eyes are actually more red but the flash pinked them up.  Lilly  kept trying to snap her head off really fast. She did not know what the heck it was. LOL  White with red eyes is the norm. Albino I beleive. I gave her a bath and clipped her nails for my nephew.  She was very good.

Many years ago, my sister had a rat. Must of been about 5 years old.  He just lived in a rabbit cage.  We fed and watered him, and when we did he was wild getting the food.  He got out once after no one had held him for a long time, came walking in our back door like he lived in there, Scared us. But I was able to pick that boy up.  He did not even bite me.  I was so shocked,  I even gave him a bath. LOL

When i first started keeping rats i was told to never clip there nails. They natural shed but I have never looked into it.

Really, she was scratching herself and making all sorts of sores. After I bathed her in a medicated shampoo and clipped the nails it all started healing.  I don't think that its true about the nails shedding. Cats do though. I think I will look more into it. Thanks for mentioning that, P.D.
