i just know that i wont support anything that puts even more restrictions on people. peoples rights have been wittled away at a little at a time long enough. what ever happened to "the land of the free?" and what does freedom really stand for. it used to be about having rights. the right to free speech, right to vote, right to bear arms, freedom of prayer in our schools and most certainly included to own whichever breed of dog you so choose.the two parts of freedom are "free" and "dom" . we live in the land of the "free" and we're dom(dumb) if we really believe it. by people not stepping up to the plate and fighting against these bannings. we are setting ourselves up for whatever our government decides to target next. and even though we may not own pitbulls ourselves, we DO own other breeds that could very well be the next "victims" of our goverments plan to strip us of even one more of our rights.i would hope that most of us will not endorse any kind of action that would deny us another one of our rights. that includes the right to own a pitbull.
That really pisses me off! I usually don't watch things like that but I actually watched the video. That "spokewoman" is a clueless B**ch! She doesn't know her A$$ from a hole in the ground. I HATE people as ingorant as her. I can almost bet everything I have that she's never even been in the same room with any of these breeds! If I lived there I'd be sitting on the town halls steps with my mean aggrassive Amercain Bulldog!
"These are large breeds that share many of the same traits. They were bred specifically for fighting," said Cheryl Conway, Aurora spokesperson. "Aggression is a very common characteristic in all of them."
The lady who said this really needs to do more research because she has no idea what she is talking about. People like this really make me mad because they no nothing.
When we registered our dogs with the city when we moved i asked them if they had breed restrictions (because i had heard that the town made you pay more to licence your dog if it was a "pit bull"). The lady in return suprised me by saying that they had just changed that rule and that there was now NO breed restrictions what so ever....made me feel like we had made a giant step forward.
The thing that gets to me the most about this is that they are considering banning these other breeds (by the way I have heard talks of dogs like dobies and rotties possibly getting added to that list down the road) purely off a 'guess' that they will be used for fighting if pit bulls are banned, so they want to try to 'cover all the angles' that fighters might use. That is frustrating for so many reasons, but one of them being that I really think fighting dogs is like doing drugs. It doesn't matter if you make it illegal, people are going to do it anyway. Obviously if people care that little about life, are they really going to care about the law? Just frustrates me to no end.
