Hard headed little puppy!

Oh my gosh Marley is so freakin' hard headed when it comes to going potty!!  When she first came home, as soon as you went outside and said "Go potty", she'd do what she needed to do.  NOW, she waits FOREVER!!

I'm trying to get her area trained like Kula, so I take her to this large box outside filled with pea gravel.  If she REALLY, REALLY has to go (like first thing in the AM), no problem...she whines a bit about not being able to go in the yard, then does her business.  Any other time, she sits down in the box and just looks around...no matter how many times I take her back inside and put her in the play pen (one good thing....she won't go in the play pen either).

Today, when I got home from work (around noon), she went pee in the box, but wouldn't poop, so I let her play in the yard for about 30 minutes.  As soon as we walk in the door, she squats to poop on the floor!!  I caught her in time, picked her up and got her outside.....6 hours later she has STILL NOT POOPED!  She obviously needed to go....now she just WON'T go.

UGH....I love this little girl to death, but I'm really tired of sitting outside waiting for her to do her business    I need a NAP!!

Leave some poop, and some urine soaked paper in the pea gravel for her to sniff.
If you had someone standing at the bathroom door, staring and tapping their foot, you would doubtless feel the same way. Is there a way to put a pen around the pea gravel and a bit more area, so you can let her fart around a litlle, before getting down to business?
Usually, right after they eat, a pup needs to poop [they have to pee whenever they wake up].
I try to feed mine and give them time to do potty, after dinner, then bring them in.
The usual pup routine is wake, pee, eat, poop, play around, sleep. If you center their mealtimes around your sleeping and their eating, it usually hits it, at that age. Establish a routine, dogs are big on that.
